She will probably win: By now, most people will settle for “not too bright” over “criminally insane”…

And they did elect that world renowned genius, Joe Biden.

Washington State is politically divided by a mountain range. It is a given that DEM win the west and GOP win the east. Doesn’t matter who the candidates are.

What’s she doing out of the house, anyway. Didn’t Bob McDonnell write in his thesis that working women are destroying America?! Good conservative women belong in the home.

^ You’re right. It’s time to start executing people we don’t like for religious reasons, formally state a national religion, put women and gays in their place, and force the “lower people” to work long hours for little pay. And if I say certain people need not apply, I mean it. *

Truly the Golden Ages are upon us.

    pirate;

America is made of people. When times are hard, people turn to people they think can help them, often to the most flamboyant and the one who tells them what they want to hear.

    And it usually ends bad.

“the age of American Progressivism is over”

Where have you been? “Liberal” has been a dirty word in American politics since Reagan. The country has been on a long swing to the right. I’ve seen it, and Justice Stevens spoke of it upon his retirement. Conservatives have ruled the roost, and they are the ones who have failed.

They are the reason we will be the last country in the G8 to offer health insurance to all it’s citizens. It is fashionable among conservatives to scoff at anything European just because it IS European, thus they ignore many useful examples that we could learn from. Yet how can one explain away this fact? England currently has “socialized medicine”, and a 7.8% unemployment rate while we are at 9.6%. Yeah, it really screwed them up, didn’ t it?

I recently heard a British citizen express his dismay over the American health care debate. He asked how we could watch billions of health care dollars go to fund large insurance company profits, executive salaries, lobbyists, corporate red tape, drug company adds and the like; and think we are acheiving high efficiency. What he didn’t realize is that laissez-faire capitalism has become a near religion in the US, and as such, it’s adherents no longer feel the need to use logic.

Narrowminded, what an appropriate name for you. Both you and Ms. O’Donnell are not conservatives. You are reactionaries. And your ideas are bankrupt. But at least you have a proper name.

What the heck is the point of bringing up her tween dabbles of “witchcraft”? Why does anyone care what she did when she was 12/13? This isn’t 17th century Massachusetts. Give it a rest. Besides, it take emphases away from the other things that make her an undesirable candidate.

“What the heck is the point of bringing up her tween dabbles of “witchcraft””

Even as far back as Barack Obama’s childhood has been used against him politically.

“Jade, In my opinion, your views of conservatism aren’t based in reality. I am a conservative and don’t hold to any of the positions stated in your post. Could you further explain your perspective? I’m curious where these ideas on conservatism are taught.”

While it’s a bit of an exaggeration, (I flagged my post as such), here’s where I get it:

”^ You’re right. (1) It’s time to start executing people we don’t like for religious reasons, (2) formally state a national religion, (3) put women and gays in their place, (4) and force the “lower people” to work long hours for little pay. (5) And if I say certain people need not apply, I mean it. *

The “death penalty for being gay or a ‘gay ally’” in Uganda was founded by staunch conservatives in the U.S. who are very “friendly” with Congress, in fact several members stay at their apartments…er .. “church.” Sally Kern and several other prominent Conservatives have rated gays more of an enemy to the country than terrorists, who they claim need to be killed on sight. Several prominent conservatives claim that this country was founded by Judeo-Christians and that is the only religion whose laws should be recognized. It is another reason why gays are treated as second class citizens. Potential Presidential hopefuls such as graduate-of-Pat-Robertson’s university Bob McDonnell “I’m a man of business but one of my first actions was to remove equal state protection for gays” wrote in his Thesis that one of the primary reasons for the sinking of our country is women out of the home. The Conservative attacks on unions and minimum wage laws while protecting the rights of executives to completely sap their companies dry. The Conservative attacks and demands for the repeal of the 14th Amendment; the attacks on Muslim Americans; the attacks on illegal immigrants even when the practice they’re highlighting is done by affluent legal tourists.
