To those interested in facts, the throwaway comment from m davis refers to the Secure FENCE Act of 2006. The vote in the Senate was 80-19. Estimated cost was $50 billion. Congress appropriated $1.4 billion.
Btw, Obama did vote for it. So, just what point was davis trying to make? To me, it only shows that Obama is more like a classic Republican than a Democrat.
The Bush wall was expensive enough for one failed experiment, don’t need to waste more. Besides, all this existing one did was disrupt critical wildlife habitat, and provide a support for the smugglers’ ramps they just placed over it.
