To me, being spooky sure needs a lot of practice. For eg. when making your voice sound like a ghost’s you have to be extremely careful not to cough.
I really spooked a panhandler once when I was recovering from laryngitis. When I tried to politely refuse, he thought I was speaking with the voice of the devil.
