The kid isn’t bred for this kind of abuse. After awhile though the insults will grow stale. I know it’s kind of crumby, but hopefully the kid will learn to sandwich his emotions between two toasty outer shells. (I feel like a heel for mentioning the above.)
I don’t mind the “heel”. I use the bread ends to make grilled cheese sandwiches. The cheese goes on the crust sides and you can’t tell that the bread ends were used.

Witzelsucht, as summarized by a team of Taiwanese researchers in a paper (pdf here) published in 2005, is marked by “a tendency to tell inappropriate and poor jokes.” Wikipedia, citing another study, notes that a Witzelsucht patient has an “uncontrollable tendency to pun,” finding the jokes “intensely amusing.” These tendencies are caused by an injury to the person’s brain, specifically in his or her right frontal lobe, often caused by stroke. One neurologist, who told MSNBC that he sees several Witzelsucht-afflicted patients each year, described a particularly “dramatic” case: “[He] appeared to be attracted to my reflex hammer. After I checked his deep tendon reflexes and put my hammer down, he picked up the hammer and started to check my reflexes, while giggling.” The humor, of course, was lost on the doctor — and would be to any outside observer as well.

Aw… Dad is sweet..
He might look a bit crusty on the outside…. but he’s still tender inside, with a real soft spot for his kids.
He just got home from his Toastmaster’s meeting… bringing his wife some fresh flours, as he always does…
He knows he’ll have to rise early, too, but if his son kneads him, he’ll at yeast try to help.
This boy is the last child. They decided he’d be the end.
I think he’ll turn out just like his Dad… so I hope they threw away the mold.
