This is actually too close to the truth.

This is essentially what’s gone on with the whole “GOP” since the inauguration. They won’t move to remove him, either temporarily or permanently, until he’s done an enormous amount of damage to the party and their chances for re-election. By then, it will take 20 years to fix the damage to the country.

Remember, It’s OKAY If A Republican Does It.

NONE of the so-called ‘conservatives’ believe there anything even slightly wrong with this ‘bargain’.

You could switch the statements and it would still work.

“John” you have alluded to your Christian beliefs. Does bearing false witness fall into your belief system? Does pathological lying mean anything to you? How about the love your neighbor part? Isn’t that part of your beliefs? Then, there’s the question of the poor. Did Jesus say you should be taking care of the poor? How about the sick? Wasn’t that another group singled out by Jesus? Then there are the misfits and the children, who need to be taken care of. Does Jesus tell you to simply screw them? Then there’s the turning of the cheek. How about that part of your belief system? Then, of course there’s the swords into plowshares stuff. Does that ring a bell? How about the rich man getting into heaven? Camels passing through the eye of the needle, anyone?

But let’s put aside the religious hypocrisy to focus on the real issue—mental illness. I know you said in the past that everyone struggles with their own demons. OK, so why, as a people, do we have to agree to struggle with trump’s mental illness demons? He is sick, you know. Every day provides more evidence of the pathology. Normalizing his behavior is not acceptable to me, anyway. How about you?

So, what say you? Are you a Christian? Are you capable is discerning mental illness? Politics aside, now. Do not deflect. Just calmly address these issues. Can you? Will you? Or is it politics and power above all principle? Is it that neither Christian values nor mental health are even vaguely important to you? As your Dear Leader is prone to say, SAD.

Personally, I’m more worried about the ACA replacement that Ryan and Trump seem to be trying to quickly push through and wonder what we can do to make sure the middle class has heath care, not just potential access, vouchers and tax credits. I also feel that our multimillionaire/billionaire representatives don’t have the same sense of urgency that we do. How do you feel about this?

“The President is exempt from conflict of interest laws on outside income. Now what are you going to do?”

Ah, another so-called ‘conservative’ strict constructionist invoking the constitutional clause that says It’s OKAY If A Republican Does It.

JLocke: What the hell are on about? I said that Trump could say Ryan’s line, and Ryan Trump’s, and it would still be accurate.

When even Chaffetz says something is rotten in “Trumpmark”, and needs investigating, that “bargain” certainly isn’t one to the benefit of Americans, espcially those who voted for Trump, which is true irony.

Has anyone else noticed this past has been a weekend fairly free of name-calling and childish posts ? We have even had some pretty thoughtful exchanges on these pages. Would anyone like to conjecture as to why that may have been so ? I have my guess.

So that is why they did away with ethics, truth, justice and liberty. The right-wing came out to put someone in the white house who would work for his own interests and make sure the swamp would stay nice and full. They didn’t know they were doing so, but there it is.

Who says they didn’t know what they were doing? Do you think they cared about America, or just their own personal power and wealth?

For “JLOCKE” — Have you forgotten James Madison’s admonition? “If men were angels, no government would be necessary.”

@JLOCKE — You might also recall that much of flyover country, east of the Mississippi, was so “independent” that it didn’t have electricity until FDR’s BIG Government program brought it there! In the 21st Century, even flyover country is connected to the rest of the world.
