Altruistic suicide? What became of his body? Is Endtown going the way of the Uruguayan rugby team or the Donner party?

Some one is fat shaming them into killing themselves then digging up the dead bodies and making ham and bacon. Question is, where are they getting hickory or oak for smoking?

Yes, there is some kind of “Donate your body to culinary science” racket going on.

As I recall the “suicides” left no bodies. So are there ham shanks and bacon rashers smoking somewhere. Somehow, this reminds me of an old saying that chickens give their futures for your breakfast, but pigs give there all.

Wait a minute! Is it normal that those who are close relatives – as in brother and sister in this case – became the same type of animal? I had the idea that it was different for every person. Please advise, wise people of the Endtown message board.

Some lose weight, some gain weight. Endtown isn’t gaining or losing any actual weight overall, I guess. It must all even out.

Somehow I get the impression that there’s some new virus out there in Endtown that’s causing its porcine (pig) residents to gain weight. That’s what Portia was trying to combat.

Morpho-types would be prone to morpho-specific maladies. Gustine had poor eyesight, which would have been shared by other rhinos. Pigs might be suffering from hamster syndrome.

On all the suicides there must have been no bodies hence the missing posters.Dead in Endtown are sealed in concrete on burial.Either not to be dug up for food or recover from the dead as a zombie of some sorts.I lean towards food on the pigs part now…….an offer to give themselves up for the greater good??How are the cattle futures in Endtown…..pork bellies are fluctuating.

A long comment; apologies in advance. Also, I note that “replies” are, in general, hidden. Recognizing that there are several out there to whom I am replying, I’ll just leave them here. Dragon Cat and A Dream 4U are at least two that I’m replying to.

Several days ago, someone noted that the “mutations” seem ironic: Lactose intolerant Holly became a cheese loving mouse. Lovers Jim and Sarah became raccoon and lizard. Weight and fitness obsessed Portia became a pig. (At least, as of a few days ago, we assumed she was weight and fitness obsessed)

Do close family members “mutate” into the same creatures? Up to this point, I don’t think Aaron has given us any evidence. (If I’m wrong, I’m sure you guys will correct me!) Another issue is, if I recall, for a successful anthro “mutation,” people must be asleep at the time it occurs – else, people become fearsome tooth-full monsters!

A hole that Aaron is currently dug into is the dwindling food supply for survivors, anthro and otherwise. We’ve been running out of beans for years now and the land appears no longer suitable for agriculture. At least, it seems as if no one is farming anymore. Driven home during the “milk trials” is that this world is running out of food. This was driven home again during the Lizard Land adventure, where lizards were eating what we would later discover were eggs that were going to hatch other than lizards. So, it seems a logical extension that this episode is going to capitalize once again on dwindling food supplies and what some anthros are doing about it.

Side note: I like what Richard Barton said, above, that Holly committed a form of suicide. Yes, we know she is alive. Insiders have also noted that the ship, once it has chosen its captain, will protect its captain – though it was harvesting all other life forms that crossed its deck. Still, the situation Holly is in now is a mental and spiritual equivalent of suicide, even if her body lives on…

Now, for my comments. When this episode began, I was fearful that Aaron was entering the world of fat shaming, as well. At this point, it is still a bit difficult to know where he is going with this thread. What we do know is that, as readers, we have enough circumstantial evidence to suggest that there is a ham and bacon underground apparently responsible for the “suicides” of pigs in Endtown. What is not known is the connection of the two wolves at the beginning of this episode, especially since they are going to be represented by a pig lawyer. A classic piece of obfuscation – by the master of obfuscation himself, Aaron Neathery!

I sit back and watch, wondering whether Aaron dares take on this no-such-thing-as-thin-enough world, where any fat is too fat, and even those who dare to take on the topic of fat shaming are still going to conclude with yet another weight loss plan.

Just ask Oprah – who once dissed that “fat is the last safe prejudice” – only to leave us with Doctor Oz and who, just over a year ago, took over Weight Watchers!

Contrary to the $50 billion a year industry that wants to convince us otherwise, not everyone is supposed to be thin! Maybe Aaron will dabble a little with this.

I think there’s a reverse-mortgage scheme going on, where the equity is in people’s bodies instead of their homes. The more meat on them, the higher the property value.

I don’t think the issue here has anything to do with body image. If it did, then the pigs would have started running six Endtown years ago, when the mutations happened. Indications so far are that this is a recent behavior and pig anthros are either working to gain weight ( how, with food in short supply?), or to lose weight. At the same time, there are “suicides”, and possible disappearances (“missing” posters not needed for suicides). Something more sinister than body image problems going on.

Very good point, RICKD! If they have run out of food, how are the pigs fattening themselves? Moreover, if there is food, why? Also, my comments on body image are speculations on my part. I guess I’m overly sensitive when it comes to fat shaming and body image – a reason when Portia first appeared (the day after we dropped Wally and Kirbee like hot potatoes) – I don’t know about anybody else, but personally, I cringed.

@*BARNABUS BLACKOAK*: Another thought about “other obese animals,” pigs may be unique in that they are the only animal prized for its fat. These days, alleged “health conscious” people have pretty much concluded that any fat is too fat, not just on their own bodies, but also the animals they eat. The only thing worse that red meat is marbled red meat. Suddenly, even hamburger has to be 95% lean – even if it produces patties with the consistency of hockey pucks.

I’ve not seen Aaron portray many birds at all. Chic is the only bird I’ve seen to date. (If there were others, please chime in!) If Endtown mirrored our society, I think the animals most likely to be in danger would be TURKEYS! (Personally, I can’t think of anything more disgusting than turkey bacon!) (Hey, anyone remember those turkey taco commercials from last year?) (Get the drift?…)

For what it’s worth, could the pigs that are gaining weight be GIVEN food to fatten up and then “commit suicide” by allowing themselves to be eaten by those that gave them the food? Pigs fatten up very easily. Portia could be totally against this, thus the reason she has no food and is working out. She does NOT want to voluntarily be eaten.

I have a difficult time believing anyone has been “volunteering” for the bacon slicer. Something very, very odd is going on. I get the business with Portia trying to slim her way to “undesireability” but the ones fattening themselves? Are we looking at the “milk & eggs” business taken to extremes? Natural by-products are one thing, but what could possibly entice someone to sacrifice themselves to feed others? Even if it were to sustain loved ones, it makes no sense because what will they do once you are gone? No…. something much darker is at work here.

I know Patreon has helped Aaron a lot. I’m glad about that. Do other Patreons give “rewards” to those who give? I am under the poverty level. Poverty level is somewhere around $800. or $9.00. around a month. Some people can afford that easily, some folks it is hard but worth it, can get by without $10.00 a month or more. But I Can’t afford to do that and I wish I could, because Aaron Needs it. And I feel like I am losing out on important information because Of my income Is Social Security. I worked at many part-time jobs after the years Istayed at home with my kids when were little. So I’m wondering do all people who receive patrons reward the givers? I don’t think that Doc rat does that. More and more of use are and have dropped from Middle Class, Working Class into Poverty Class. I was strongly in Middle Class until 15-20 years ago and have Not been able to drag myself out of this nasty hole ever since.
