Continuing to lie after you’ve been found out will only make you look stupid, since you now seem to believe a lie.

This won’t end well. O_o

You need to learn how to lie better, Phoebe. For example, if you continue this lie you will get into trouble with your teacher and also in trouble with your parents in case your teacher calls home. But if you go home now and tell your parents that you forgot your book report because the assignment sheet got crumpled up at the bottom of your bag, then you will only get a small amount of trouble because you are trying to make up for your ‘forgetfulness’ and also need to hurry to finish in time, so no time for a scolding. If you play your cards right you will even get a new binder for your loose papers out of it.

Phoebe will surely learn some valuable lesson at the end of this arc. Right?

She should tell her parents that she’s “editing” it.

Marigold could do the report, but the teacher would notice all the sparkles.

Tell them you re-read it and didn’t like how you wrote it, so you’re doing it over!

Lying is for liberals. The Unicorn is at least pointing out the proper way.

Lying lights up more parts of the brain so you need to be smarter to lie—-lie well. But it is a bad road since sooner or later you will be found out. Better to just do her work and tell the truth.
