    Here in Canada, we are going to do some “extreme vetting” to prevent any of the rump supporters from entering our country.

    I would recommend a little-known Sinclair Lewis novel to any readers here. It is a very fast read. The title is “It Can’t Happen Here”. Not a great work of literature, but definitely thought-provoking in exactly the way it wants to be.

    My daughter moved to New Zealand some time ago, and they’re expecting a lot of company from “statesiders” to show up. Too bad it’s so expensive for we old folks to move down there, but if ALL our kids were there, would make it pretty easy to join them! BTW: NZ folks considered W an embarrassing American joke. Trump they figured just shows our country has gone totally nuts!

    Orrr, just oust the pathological, ignorant, lying SOB.

    Maybe for the next march in DC if everyone carried torches and pitchforks they’d listen.

    And YOU gave us Reagan, trickle-down (piss on ‘em) economics, A Thousand Points of Light, Iraq, Afghanistan, liberal journalists being denied access to events, non-Bushies being evicted from events, Granada, pulling out of Lebanon, fake , journalist being accredited to the press pool, and the total mispronunciation of NUCLEAR!Sorry, that’s a MAJOR pet peeve on that last one!

    Ask the Hawaiians about the wisdom of inviting Americans into their country. If you can find one.

    The selfish rich will be out soon enough. They are only sucking the last dollars out of the poor and middle class before they leave.

    Yeah, people who say they’re going to leave if so-and-so becomes the president always trot out the ol’ “Just kidding!” Like when Republican Senator Ted Cruz publicly called Trump a “pathological liar” (which he is) now has to trot out the ol’ “Just kidding!” At least most of the conservative pundits who were publicly against Little Donnie continue to be against Little Donnie. I suppose there’s more freedom in some ways not to be in Congress…….

    Just as a reminder of what that nation used to be:

    Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

    With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

    Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

    A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

    Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

    Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand

    Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

    The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

    “Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she

    With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,

    Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

    The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

    Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,

    I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

    —Emma Lazarus, 1883, “The New Colossus”, sonnet inscribed inside Statue of Liberty

    I’m staying to fight for freedom, the Constitution, and America.

    I have family that came over with the Winthrop Fleet in 1630 and spread all over the country. My grandfather fought for civil rights in the 1940s. My mother shattered glass ceilings throughout the 80s and 90s.

    Don’t mess with my family, or my country, Trumpanistas. You will regret it.

    PERUSING the NEWS {a rhyme}

    Dismay continues to color the news.

    Everything’s bruise-colored, – blacks and blues.

    Trump himSelf, and his ragged crew’s factions,

    and the Republican Party’s unseemly reactions.

    And it seems that the Left-leaning opposition

    might not be able to come to fruition.

    FACTS {a rhyme}

    The Donald proceeds as if the facts

    were A and B and C.

    Yuuge mistakes by Trump and his flacks

    ‘cause instead they’re X, Y and Z.

    Apparently you MISSED the “PHONE” part of that. If the other party keeps hanging up, why would keep calling? And Republicans are already regretting their “Commander-in-Chief!”

    This why I’m not leaving my Country. I need to stick around to stop unAmericans from taking over :

    “Trump’s attack on democracy shouldn’t divert our attention from other attacks now underway. A group called the American Legislative Exchange Council, or ALEC — at the direction of billionaire GOP donors Charles and David Koch and their corporate cohorts — is pushing to convene a constitutional convention, permitted under Article V of the Constitution. At their convention, they’d attempt to rewrite the Constitution to reduce the power of the people and enhance the power of big corporations.

    This is no conspiratorial joke. It takes 34 states to convene a constitutional convention, and 28 states have already passed resolutions to do exactly that. The ALEC/Koch consortium is now targeting 11 others." — Robert Reich, former Secretary of Labor

    2 more Executive Orders signed, one for the military the other for immigration. Expect our new president to be using the EO more than Obama ever did. He is now “dictating” too now Reich Wingers. But since he is “your” man its okay right? He’s Right White and Rich unlike our previous Black Man you despised so much.

    BIZARRELY ERRATIC {… a limerick; – extra points that all 5 lines rhyme …}

    Trump is bizarrely erratic.

    His persona is symptomatic

    of a mind with much static.

    He’s quite problematic.

    His effect on our nation: schismatic.
