I would not be surprise if Japan has nuclear weapons. They have the material they got in the 1990’s and certainly have the technology and the threats from N. Korea gives the need.
Only the US and Russia has an insane omincidal amount of nuclear weapons—-14,000 which is enough to saturate ever continent with nukes and that should stop all of our problems as a species and speed up the Anthropocene Extinction Even and hold off the Hot House Earth for a few centuries.
