When I was a manager, I told a fellow manager that I spent about 25% of my time working on personnel issues. He asked if I really had that much of a problem with my employees. I told him that I had no problems with my employees because I spend about 25% of my time on personnel issues.

It takes the 10 ~ 200 odd employees to take that 10% pay cut so that management can get a decent increase.
