Wow, not even PBS back then? I get about 20 channels now – all “free TV”. I don’t want or need cable. There is so little on cable these days worth watching anyway. Very little on the “big 3” too, but I watch the “retro” channels where they show programs from the 60’s and 70’s.
Now there’s an inauguration ceremony I’d actually watch. Apparently I was the only one on the planet to miss the one in January. Hail to the Chief – Beagle, that is.
This strip goes a bit too far for me as i think it shatters the adult world/children world barrier that helps us immerse ourselves within the Peanuts universe and also helps us suspend disbelief at many of the hard-to-believe things that are happening in that universe (such as Snoopy typing out books). For here we’re told that the adult world is actually aware of one of the hard-to-believe things going on in the Peanuts world, and not only that, but is even covering it on national TV.
WOW! I don’t remember Peanuts being this far out. Usually it’s set it a bit of reality, but Snoopy’s inauguration televised on all three networks? That’s ridiculous.~NOTE TO MILLENNIALS: Back then there WERE only 3 networks.

Sally would think “impeached” means to be in a peach orchard.

You should be at his inauguration ceremony Charlie Brown. And Lucy ought to shut her mouth.

I know how we all hate here in the fun comics to see the political comments but …………….
Now we have many more networks to avoid seeing this “very moving ceremony”.

Just 3 networks in the 1960s-70s! Simpler life!

It’s Lucy who’s going to be impeached and not the head-beagle to-be

It’s interesting that Lucy’s comment was made at the height of Nixon’s popularity…

Like 60s music this story arc is as relevant today as it was nearly 50 years ago.

Do other breeds get their own Heads? For example, Head Irish Wolfhound, Head St. Bernard? (Okay, yeah, I like big dogs, lol.)

That’s funny — Charlie Brown doesn’t look like Steve Bannon …
