Gee, I guess some people see Star Wars as a religion or maybe all religions are just stories.

Religion and mythology differ in scope but have overlapping aspects. Both terms refer to systems of concepts that are of high importance to a certain community, making statements concerning the supernatural or sacred. Generally, mythology is considered one component or aspect of religion. Religion is the broader term: besides mythological aspects, it includes aspects of ritual, morality, theology, and mystical experience. A given mythology is almost always associated with a certain religion such as Greek mythology with Ancient Greek religion. Disconnected from its religious system, a myth may lose its immediate relevance to the community and evolve—away from sacred importance—into a legend or folktale.

No matter how morally retarded you think Mike Lester is, he manages to make himself look an even bigger ass than ever. You’d better hope there is no God, because you’re going to Hell. Better make sure they bury you in an asbestos suit, just in case….

Religion seems to have an almost drug like affect on yuuuge numbers of people according to Marx.

The only difference between a religion and a cult is that a religion has public acceptance.

An atheist is just somebody who feels about Yahweh the way any decent Christian feels about Thor or Baal or the golden calf. As has been said before, we are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further.

If that were true, we would all be Trump supporters.

Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, it is all good. Is one side trying to control what all people are saying?

That is not what he said. The context is a list of how various interests use religion for their various purposes. The “opiate of the people” referred to the poor having nothing for relief of their suffering but their faith

Bible verses put on gun sights for US use in Iraq and Afghanistan. Bush 43 called wars a “crusade”. Evangelicals accepted all of the vile actions and statements from Trump. Fake “Christians” say “Merry Christmas” to non-Christians to try to inflame them, completely obliterating the message of Jesus Christ. Alleged “Christians” want to remove all support from the poor, again completely missing the message of Jesus.

Sad her mom died the next day, grief.

The message a Star Wars is that there is a stronger force, that doesn’t pick winners or losers as “Man’s” religions do.

Carrie was a strong advocate for women’s rights, defending those with mental illness and addiction, and sought to make lives better in her actions OFF the screen. Gallant woman, and so was Debbie.

If your belief system works for you though it may be different than mine I’ll respect yours if you will reciprocate. Trust and respect makes positive things possible.

When I was young I was forced to say the Lord’s Prayer every morning in school. I was harassed by other students because I wasn’t Christian. The school always had a Christmas concert, never a concert for any other religion. We had Christmas holiday and Easter holiday, but never Passover Holiday. My eighth grade science teacher didn’t teach us the theory of evolution because some parents objected on religious grounds. I would say that there was no war on Christianity, but I would say that there was very little or no acknowledgement of other religions or of people who weren’t religious. Even today I am sure that an open agnostic or atheist would not have a chance to be president. Clinton was criticized, even though she is a practicing Christian, because she is quiet about her faith. Some people seem to think that the best Christians are the loudest Christians: volume is virtue. A lot of people spread rumors that Obama is Muslim, because they knew that would damage his reputation. I’m not a militant atheist or militant agnostic or a militant anything, and I’m not in the habit of questioning anyone’s religious faith or religious practice, but I do want the same respect that I give to those who are religious.

The cartoon would have been better if the guy in the red hat had said “Sorry Bro, I didn’t mean to force my beliefs on you.”Than the Star War guy yells “May the force be with you!!”

    .

But I guess that is liberal humor.

“Not all who say ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the Kingdom, but those who do the will of the Father.” If you have a problem with that, take it up with Jesus, I just spread his word.

An older survey by Pew Research found that Atheists/Agnostics scored highest. Followed by Jews and Mormons.

    .

Now that is about religion in general. As far as the bible and christianity goes, the Mormons lead, followed by White evangelicals.

    .

    World religions: Jews and Atheist/Agnostic.

    .

Likewise for religion in public life.
