    If this keeps up, the timeline is going to be even more complicated than The Legend of Zelda.

    @hippogriff (yesterday)

    The Orpheum in Vancouver, built in 1927, was, of course, originally a stage performance theatre, where a lot of vaudeville and serious acting took place, along with symphony orchestra concerts. As a movie theatre, it was hardly practical, past the 70’s, since it was a one-screen facility and could seat over 2600 patrons. For that final screening of Star Wars that I attended, there were maybe 25 people in the audience.

    .

    In 1978-80, I attended several concerts on the restored Wurlitzer pipe organ.

    I attended the dedication of the restored stage venue, with Vincent Price and Chief Dan George leading the bill. Orpheum was originally a vaudeville circuit, with the Keith circuit its main competitor. They merged, along with some radio stars to form RKO. As you pointed out about audience size, the day of the prestigious movie palace with the inevitable intermission concert by “the Mighty Wurlitzer”. Most of these movie palaces have been torn down for office buildings or parking garages, and the rest re-purposed back to concert halls. And at this point, we have totally lost the younger generation.

    Timeline doesn’t matter apparently if the story is good.

    Peter Cushing who was in A New Hope died back in 1994. 22 years later he reprises his character from the dead. I’m impressed
