Conservatives always rail against waste by the military but then vote for Republicans who give the military more money than they ask for. When will real conservatives realize that Republicans are not really fiscal conservatives??? I have for at least 30 years!
Let’s trim DoD by 10%, eliminate the Departments of Energy & Education, cut foreign aid & corporate welfare by 90%, pull out of the UN, and trim everything else by 5%.
I’d love to see how much money Obama’s ‘czars’ wasted over the last 8 years.
to wyneaux ….Democrats also vote for more than the Pentagon requests, and especially if it asks for funds for products produced in the home districts of those politicians!.…///…Maybe Trump should loan the Generals in the Pentagon accounting department (if it exists) some of his personal business CPAs!…///…IMO Congress needs a panel of politically neutral (if one could be found) accountants and conservative military leaders to advise on what the military truly needs and what is not needed to get and keep an alert, trained and equipped and ready-to-respond Military force when the security of America is threatened. It is politics and human greed in politicians and unscrupulous (hopefully, most are scrupulous/honest) business leaders that produce wasteful spending and additions to the National Debt, nearly $2 Trillion as Obama leaves office…(Jan. 20, 2009 the Debt was $10.6 Trillion, treasury number.)………………………………..
…///…P.S. our military is at the lowest and weakest since WW2…..say military experts comparing the number of Navy ships and our manpower and across-the-board needs for optimum readiness for more than one threat at a time!
It’s no surprise to anyone that big government wastes billions, but it’s not limited to the Pentagon. Welfare programs are even more loaded with fraud, waste and abuse, from Medicare and Medicaid fraud to phony “disability” Social Security claims. The bigger it gets, the more impossible it is to monitor the government money machine.
