Apparently leslie, the tough guy with the girlie name, has done something bad in the past that he got caught doing and he’s on probation and/or has to pay restitution. I want him gone with never another mention. Meanwhile, what are Bernice/Gunther/Tiffany doing? Are they doing a 3some? Okay, never mind, that is extremely unlikely.

Les is totally not a pro. He’s sounding like 12 years old at this moment. The minimum punishment for Les would be to endure the humiliation of having to ask for the gift and money back from Pru, and return them to where they came from. Pru would probably be kind and helpful – but not a girlfriend. Les needs to cut it at a place like Weenie World – with no special favors.

I appreciate that, but I am not sure if you read all the comments yesterday. I typically do not get involved in the pursuit of being grammar or spelling police, as well as not making posts here involving politics or religion. In trying to answer someone’s question yesterday, I took time out of my day to find a strip where their question could be answered. This was the exchange in case you did not see it in it’s entirety:

    .

    .

“Mikeyj said, about 14 hours agoIs it Gray, or Grey?…I used both, ‘cause I can’t remember :p”

    .

    .

    And this was my reply:

    .

“Brdshtt GoComics PRO Member said, about 14 hours ago@MikeyjNancy refers to him as “Mr. Gray” in this strip:.http://www.gocomics.com/luann/2016/02/29”

    .

    .

True, it is not a “life or death” thing; I engaged no one in a war of words, just answered their question by simply answering and posting a relevant strip with the pertinent information in it. Nothing more.

    .

Not much different than what you had posted as a reply to someone yesterday in several instances:

    .

“jackreacher said, about 24 hours ago@IamJayBluEFruit or fruity is sometimes used in a pejorative manner to describe a gay person

Fruit and fruitcake, as well as many variations, are slang or even sexual slang terms which have various origins but modern usage tend to primarily refer to gay men and sometimes other LGBT people."

    Or this one:

    .

“jackreacher said, about 15 hours ago@JimT8It all started here for me:@gromit82 said, about 10 hours ago@31768

Why do you call her “Pru(ne)”? I mean, I get that you are trying to make a pun on the word “prune” (like the fruit), but Pru isn’t like that.No inference that gromit82 or 31768 was connecting fruit with gay.

Pru came out as gay. Pru is not a prune. She’s gay.

Not that that makes any difference.

The post I made is derived from a Google search.

I recall ‘fruit’ being used to describe gays was common in my youth — 50’s and 60’’s, and is still being used today.

    .

I was disseminating information – nothing more."

@ Iam Jay BluE: Great zinger lines. Made me start my day off a smile. Regarding Les being gone soon, I don’t think so. In the interview with GE that was on the luannfan pages: GE stated that evil characters like Les & Dirk or quirky crazy ones like Knute are more fun to write for than normal boring ones like Luann, Bernice or Delta. But If that’s the case, how come Knute has really disappeared for all intensive purposes if he was so fun to write . Knute was sort of replaced by Nil and Dez, but we don’t get to see them often either. Oh well, Variety is the spice of life and guess we need all different kinds of spices in the cabinet to keep coming up with interesting recipes …. so keep on cooking Team Evans.

Jack, it is good that Bird made people aware of the problem of incorrect edits in Wikis. Wikis can be useful and certainly convenient but DO NEED TO BE CHECKED. Many people who use them are unaware of that. In this case the “a” matched what Brd and others found in past strips but purposeful disinformation appears in many wikis which can become very frustrating to those who actually know the topic. As multiple people have pointed out, including you, the “a” or “e” aspect does not really matter here for understanding what people are saying, but it is a good entry point to remind people that Wikis are to be taken with a grain – or sometimes boulder – of salt.

I was thinking last night of possibilities in which Leslie could be ordered by a judge to make payments, and appreciate others pointing out possibilities. Some of the things i thought about were: fathering a child, failing to pay a debt, taking on a need on his mother’s which involves a debt, creating an accident while not having insurance, committing a theft, or committing another crime for which restitution was substituted for jail time if Les complies..More and more i think we are seeing that Al Gray gave up his career to come to Pitt and try to help his extended family. That had been strongly suggested before, but this echoes that theme

    Some important Al Gray dates:

    .

11/20/14 dating Mrs. Berger begins to be known by Gunther. See several days after, too

    .

12/2/2014: Mrs. Berger mentioned to Quill that she knew Mr. Grey from work. Note that the Fuse was not part of this arc at that time.

    .

8/29/15: Mrs Berger says, “Mr. Gray told me that the Degroots bought some old warehouse.” Quill replies, “Yeah. They plan to transform it into a club, cafe, theater and gallery.” Mrs. Berger admires, " pHow ambitious! Do they have any experience?" Quill answers, “No. They’ll need a professional manager. But – where do you find one of those?” To that Al Gray chimes in, “I ran in a club in Las Vegas for 15 years.”

    .

10/7/15: the Degroots meet Al Gray who begins to make calls to help with work at the Fuse. Arc continues for multiple days.

    .

10/10/15: the Degroots offer Al Gray a job but he says he works free for his friends.

    .

12/18/15: Mr. Gray mentions that there will be two favors he will ask down the line. When i get time i want to look at neighboring dates.

    .

2/29/16: Leslie hired. Several days about this. This is one of the weeks where i want to look further to see details if i get time.

    .

5/6/16: Reason for the job. See day before, maybe some after.

    .

7/9/16: Uncle Al is among those to whom Leslie lies about donations after we ourselves were able to see more collected.

I think that the comments I have seen, on the serious side anyway, miss the point: this interplay between Pru and Les has nothing whatsoever to do with romance. It might just be an example of his trying to be kind, but to me the evidence tends to mitigate against a salutary motive. First, we know he set up a sham collection and even snatched some tip money. Now that we know that he is likely on probation before a judge, probably for some money situation, and his uncle asking where he got the extra cash, meaning that he is probably on a short leash on money, only makes this conclusion even more likely. What his true motive is remains to be seen, although I like the money laundering idea, although perhaps he wants to feel good, while getting rid of stolen cash? I am probably being too technical for a family strip, but I think that is unlikely because I think he is drawn to be sociopathic, but Greg then believes in redemption. I think his response to his uncle reflects not only the trauma in his past life, which we may find out about a bit, but is typical for an immature personality resentful at being restrained. Classic case I think. He is a very interesting character.

I’m leaning toward restitution, myself. No, not for me, for Les. I’m guessing he got busted for some sort of not-so-petty larceny. I’m no lawyer, and there appear to be folks here who are — does it seem plausible that, if he was just under 18, he might have been sentenced to some sort of probation, conditional on his making payments to restore what he stole. If he doesn’t make the payments, he goes in the calaboose, or maybe even the hoosegow.

    .

To gromit82 and Flash Gordon: I believe it was Robert Heinlein who said “Two is romance, three is choreography.” Still, I can’t imagine any of those three consenting to any such thing, for very different reasons.

ok late Feb 2016 Mr Gray called his favor and asked Frank and Nancy a to hire Les. and they agreed. I am trying to find the strip when Les went complaining to uncle Al " re Ox bullying him in high school and Mr Gray told him to stop whining and grow up… or something like that. When Les said he didn’t ask for the Job, Mr. Gray responded that he did it as a favor to Les’s mom and that they "both know why " he needed to have this job. Mr Gray also said that Ox was a good employee. Seems Mr Gray knows what Les is capable of and is hoping a few breaks and a firm hand will set him on the right path. I tried to search the archives and I cannot find those strips. Can anyone help locate them?
