Stipple what are you talking about? The last time the electoral vote was different from the popular vote was in 2000 when George W. Bush lost to Al Gore in the popular vote. Harry Truman was the president in 1945 when two atomic bombs were dropped on Japan. FDR had won both the electoral and popular vote in 1944. FDR died in April 1945 and the vice president became president.

It looks like Hands might be softening up his opinion of conservatives. Though still fat, male, white and obnoxious, this fellow at least has all of his teeth and seems to be more or less clean shaven. I guess that’s at least a baby step in the right direction towards political fairness.
The electoral college was founded by a clique of (slave-owning) planters, slave-transporting ship owners, and wage-slave owning factory owners to keep yeoman farmers and craftsmen from having the power to rule themselves. Just a last vestige of feudalism. There is nothing sacred about it.
