Monty Python’s “Funniest joke in the world” seems to revolve around a related theme.

They weaponize everything these days.

There was also Henry Kuttner’s 1942 story, “Nothing But Gingerbread Left”, where an earworm jingle, bad enough in English and devastating in Deutsch, was weaponized against the Reich

It’s a sound plan, General.

Fritz Leiber also wrote a similar story.

Also Mark Twain’s “A Literary Nightmare”.
