I learnt that passive-aggression is in the long run more destructive…if you’re pissed off with the status-quo, say so.

Otherwise the simmering hatred will manifest in other ways and will never build bridges and is socially more destructive

So, to the protesters out there…: carry on, it’s better that way.

Last panel – they also have to celebrate it in the first place.

Those who made any claim that Hillary was a better candidate are the real dupes.

I didn’t vote for Trump, I voted for Gary Johnson, but I almost plugged my nose and voted for Trump because I was in the swing state of Michigan and I knew that Hillary was the bigger problem.

I believe that TE-J meant that they had to celebrate it in order to enjoy it – but not that they were

    obliged to celebrate it.

BTW, for quite some time – while working in the corporate world – I used your avatar for my desktop wallpaper. It often seemed that we were tilting at windmills.

If you are an immigrant or minority, you are screwed, it is what the Republicans have wanted all along. No need to be passive-aggressive, Thanksgiving is a time between the president being elected and having done anything, so supporters can still pretend he is going to keep all his campaign promises. There is no need to cry, and Republicans wouldn’t respect a showing of emotion, it is not like someone won a ball game or shot a rare animal, it is just the rights of millions of American in the balance. Avoiding arguments at all costs is always good for any family gathering. But you don’t have to be a push over or let a Trumpeter lie around the Thanksgiving table either. Remember what Pete Seeger said: Take it easy, but take it.

Native Americans started the silly holiday; they darn well better get bloated and sleepy along with the rest of us.

I voted for Hillary but my heart was in my shoes while I checked the box. The fact that she will never run again for anything along with the possibility that the next time I hear about Raunchy Bill is when he strokes out in a bimbo’s bed are silver linings in this post-electoral cloud.

Ok, global warming deniers, I’ll grant you might be right. But what if you’re wrong? Of course, I doubt if you even know what those English words mean.

In support of your First Nations comment, see Capilano Band, Coastal Salish Chief Dan George’s speech on the Canadian Centennial. Yes, the same Chief Dan George as the actor nominated for an Oscar for Old Lodgeskins in Little Big Man. In most First Nation cultures, the chief is the poorest in the tribe because he is responsible for the well-being of the whole tribe. No Capilano member could live on the reserve, because it had the largest mall in BC, plus two high-rise apartment buildings. But they all had a safety net large enough they could follow any occupation they desired. Their chief’s real estate wheeler-dealer activities went to the tribe, he was an actor to provide his own income. Interesting contrast to a more recent wheeler-dealer “chief”, just south of the line.
