I’m guessing that this time, they won’t be needing to call the Fire Department, when they “lock themselves away”….

I’m also guessing that they’ll be glad to be in a place that’s away from the hectic paces, for a bit, and that all the “hub bub” and “to do” is over, and they can rest and relax and enjoy their first days as husband and wife, joyfully experiencing the start of all their routines and shared experiences!

Yep, these first few days will also be helpful in their establishing a foundation that will help to strengthen their mettle, as well….

Sorry, Shannon…cleaning up is the furthest thing from their minds, right now!

“Take the kid on their honeymoon”. I did a wedding cake for a young lady – second marriage for both of them – and she couldn’t find anybody to watch her little girl while they were away. (The kid is just impossible.) She was seriously considering take her child with them, and leaving his at home.

I also like Shannon. She is so much more like a normal six year old with the Degroots and her school on her side, but if her Dad leaves she is going to have a terribly hard time from feeling twice abandoned.

Just what type of clergy is this performing the wedding? Are Brad and Toni members of any particular denomination?

Sweetg1: the last time that Greg and Karen appeared in the strip itself was when Luann turned 18 (an event that stretched out over time) in late Sept 2014. Luann, according to the very recent interview (URL given somewhat late yesterday so scrool from the bottom till you see my candle avatar) is currently either 18 or 19. (Sometimes we here get teased.)

And now the call for a house fire comes in. They will be the best dressed firefighters there.

I really, really enjoy Shannon so much being her age here, and showing the same strong enthusiasm that she had for Brad proposing to Toni after Toni first proposed to Brad. We know she can focus when something really matters to her.

Asking about the clean-up is also consistent with her age. I bet if she had a tiny broom and was told it was part of the ceremony Shannon would sweep the aisle, much to everyone’s joy, and possibly w the tip of her tongue in the corner of her mouth as she concentrated.

Me thinks Brad is about to be even happier !!!

Later at the party:

Anyone notice that even with the blue they managed to work in a bit of lime shade and some goldenrod, so both themes show up?

Funny how Brad has grown from a little brat to a fine man, And similar growth with Luann, yet mom and dad haven’t changed a bit. Maybe a little more aging is needed here for them?

Shannon is so cute, I love her. I bet Jonah will have some “emergency” and expect B and T to take Shannon along on their honeymoon.

Been busy, its finals week, and teachers are as busy, almost, as their students, but I have to horn in on the comments today. First it makes sense that the money panel was yesterday, the one panel with them expressing love, focused on them, and about to kiss, while today is the formal announcement of the civil ceremony necessary for a wedding to be legal in whatever state the wedding happens. The “marriage” is almost an afterthought although of course it is serious and will be a focus of the strip probably for as long as its exists. There are so many story lines, everything from Shannon’s future, to their future, to TJ’s future, and on and on. I do think though that we soon will be making a turn to other arcs in Luannverse. Any thoughts on which characters, or what storyline it will be? Beats me, but that is part of what makes this strip so addictive. Luann1212 out!!!

BTW, i am the oldest cousin on that side so the only one told anything, but on the other side of my family an African American employee who worked at my aunt and uncle’s chicken farm told her after my parents’ wedding that my dad’s side passed, so that might also be an indicator. My aunt told me that a very long time after when i brought up the search my cousin was doing. I figure that if a person could pass for one race but not the other then her having been 1/4 or perhaps1/8 might be most likely.

There are some other things which suggest, so maybe someday one of us will test. There also has been a suggestion of Native American ancestry, shovel incisors, so, who knows?

Agreed. Kids are kids. It may be more convenient for adults to at times forget that and not want children to be children, but their time being kids and interacting in ways that fit their ages are essential for healthy skill acquisition.
