Uh, No, I don’t think so. Bush was no great prez when it came to spending, But B.O. has exponentially outspent G.W. with no end in sight.

Uh, the difference is where the money was spent:

Bush: Incredibly expensive stupid wars, bloated military, lower taxes for the rich, financial concessions to industries without need. (eg. agriculture & ethanol production)

Obama: Rescuing the economy; saving the auto industry; stimulus spending; unfreezing the banks; the nation’s health; regulatory reform of the banks, wall street, etc.

Government has actually shrunk under Obama. It never shrinks under Republicans, they just talk that way.

STF_U, you seem to have forgotten the Homeland Security debacle. And Obama has by no means “exponentially outspent” GW, especially if you put responsibility where it is deserved for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, which have both been major sinkholes – even though the neocons said “it’ll pay for itself!” in Iraq. Strange – the Iraqis decided to keep their oil revenues. Who would have thought?

Anyone remember the rules of reconciliation? Like how those tax cuts couldn’t get through permanently because they couldn’t show the CBO that it could do so without doing major harm to the deficit over the long term which is why they were set to expire this year?

    Magic. Money.

Oh, and big businesses and the rich are still making tons of money, and those’re the people that drive the economy, right??? So why isn’t the economy skyrocketing?

Howie factcheck has links to their info. Ask them about their sources. Rodney has done enough.

Pretty smart of the Bushies to have the tax cuts expire just as we go to midterm elections. This country is in SO much trouble.

“Pretty smart of the Bushies to have the tax cuts expire”

Well, they probably wouldn’t have passed if they were permanent, so it was a matter of when - and naturally, it’s best when an unpopular decision has to be taken in someone else’s term.

@ Howgy - there’s a link to the BoLS site that they provided for anyone who wants to check. You can check it by ticking the “Total Private” and “Government” tickboxes. Where do you have your data from, if that’s BS for you?

It is as if you KNOW Obama can’t do anything good, any information to the contrary can be discounted, whatever the source.
