Anyone who didn’t vote should get a rap on the head by a veteran today. That would be a good tradition for us, go vote or you’ll get a lump from someone who got shot at to make sure you could.
I’m a veteran (don’t thank me, I don’t want thanks) and a retired former union member (IBEW). I voted for every Democrat on the ballot. I’m a Leftist Liberal Socialist and I would have preferred Bernie Sanders as president. When I heard the recording on the radio of d dump accepting the purple heart and the comments he made with it, my head spun and my stomach churned. That monster belongs in prison.
A 56.8% turnout, shows that we’re still not producing candidates that people think are worth voting for. Without feedback — a “No Suitable Candidate” choice on the ballot — , the private, self-centered, exclusive political parties will continue ignoring the people and serving the corporations.
Sadly, the problem is with the white males who DID vote — and came out in spades for the racist, sexist, ignorant, arrogant bully that is Donald J. Trump.
Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrumpJust had a very open and successful presidential election. Now professional protesters, incited by the media, are protesting. Very unfair!6:19 PM – 10 Nov 2016

Trump’s back on Twitter—1st tweet is rant against Constitutional rights of free speech and assembly
As we meet veterans today, say “welcome home”, not “thanks for your service”. Remember that today is for the survivors, no matter how battered, physically and psychologically they may be. Memorial Day honors those of our friends, millions of them, who lost their lives to wars, they are beyond the pain of survival, that lasts decades. Please use this day, with this new “politic” in America to DEMAND: NO MORE WARS! THAT is what we actually believed we were fighting for.
Throughout his campaign, Trump spouted that he represented the antithesis of everything we fought for. Including the fact that ignorance and anger, linked to pure stupidity, is not a valid way to pick an issue or candidate. America may have just made the worst mistake in our history, as all three branches of government are now under the thumb of folks who should be in straightjackets. We can only hope any REAL “Republicans” left in the House and Senate will step up to their job of checks and balances, instead of launching more torpedoes at the ship of state, which their “leadership” has been doing for the past eight years. But It don’t look good (Caffetz for prime example), and the first ones shafted will be the rabid Trump supporters.
Right! And I agree. However, I am concerned that we now have a Veterans Day, a Memorial Day, an Independence Day, a Flag Day, an Army Day, a Navy Day, and probably a few more, all concentrating on promoting the military. It wasn’t like that when I was growing up – but then there was a legally declared war going on then.
