What, now prisoners get paid to do things most people out here are expected to “volunteer” for?

The scullery at Chino paid 9¢ an hour. Minus 55% for court ordered restitution is 4¢. Enough for a box of tea bags & a candy bar once a month, if you didn’t go to the Dr. or dentist (there’s a $5 copay on the health insurance). Folks beg for those 23¢ warehouse jobs.

So it’s better to have the prisoners do absolutely nothing all day ? How is this beneficial for the greater good ?

They are CRIMINALS!!!! They shouldn’t get paid at ALL!!

Plus three meals, a roof over their heads and heated rooms too. And no one told them to commit the crime that got them there. Sorry Keith, no sympathy here.
