Why doesn’t Garfield just, you know, LET GO? It’s really not that far down. And if he doesn’t want to do that, he could always just sort of ease himself over to the trunk and climb down.
This reminds me of the arc where Garfield yawned and got his mouth stuck in a tree branch. Never once did he think of just backing up.
