I remember how Portugal was severly criticised (and quite rightly so) in the ’90s for not clamping down hard on the use of children, in its poverty stricken north, to make shoes. I guess coffee is more important than shoes.(I only wear one pair of shoes at a time but drink 4-5 coffees/espressos a day. And I’ve cut down!)
So I usually stick to fairtrade coffee, as far as I know…and even those have issues. Bear in mind their quality :-/
