To folks who are worried about losing the longer stories—I hear you, I completely get that worry. Even people who are excited, you may also feel a little worried seeing changes or maybe expecting a series of one-offs forever now.
No. I promise, you ain’t seen nothing yet! I grew up on ‘Peanuts’ and ‘Calvin and Hobbes.’ This is one of the best mediums there is for hilarious, heartfelt extended stories.
I’ve here to do two things—drink tea and write awesome comics. AND I’M ALL OUT OF… Oh, never mind, the Man just put on another kettle.
But seriously… I’m here to do this right, and I’m not going to let you down. Long time readers, remember when months into the original run I sprung the first Christmas special on everyone? And everyone freaked out, and was so surprised an ongoing story was happening? And the comments flooded in: ‘What are these feelings?!’ ‘What is happening?!’ ‘Why do I suddenly care so much about fictional cats?!!’
Well, look at it this way: I’m about to do that to the entire country. And you’re in on it this time!
I promise: This is going to be awesome.
I am crazy exited for all of this!! I’m writing into August right now, and I’m already pretty much dying to share all of it with you. I cannot wait!
This is the Best News since Bob Dylan receiving the Nobel Prize for Literature! No other songwriter ever accomplished that. And just because no comic strip artist/writer has ever won it doesn’t mean it can’t happen. Go, Lady G! Go!
