There's a new cat in the backyard. We go live to Tommy to find out more! Tommy: Before we continue, sir...May I smell your nose? So...who are you? What's your name? Burt: Name's Burt. I'm a barn cat. Tommy: Barn cat...barn cat-is that some kind of owl? Burt: No. Tommy: What brings you to the backyard? Burt: Just a morning walk. I like this stone wall for my coffee sipping. Puck: So handsome. Elvis: Get off our stone wall! Burt: I live on the farm through the woods. This is my wall, but it's long enough to share. Elvis: It's short and we need all of it- Lupin: Oh, shush. Why have we never seen you before? Burt: Walked by plenty. I'm just not a "stare in the windows" type. Tommy: Seriously, who does that? Burt: Well, gotta start my morning's work. You're welcome to join me if you like.

Burt reminds me of Bob the Big Issue Cat except that he’s a barn cat and not a city cat like Bob . . . same gorgeous ginger fur though and irrepressible personality. Puck sums him up perfectly, “So handsome!” :-)

If this “expand band” is a new item, I do NOT like it one bit. It does not work apparently on Chrome. I am NOT happy. This is my #1 most favorite strip here. Please fix it.

Bert is one well-equipped cat. There’s plenty of work in a barn but once you clear out the varmints, it’s time to do some roaming and meet the neighbors.

When we lived in Vermont, our gray Tabby, Toby would make morning and evening perimeter checks of the condo fence line, then around the foundation of the house. After he cleaned out the mice, he began hunting moles, and would place his trophies on the back doorsill.

Tommy reminds me of my old long-haired brown tabby. He was the sweetest cat ever, was part of my life for nearly 19 years, and I still miss him.

Love how Burt is walking on all fours and carrying his thermos and blanket on his back. And it must be cold out: Tommy is wearing a jacket over his Hawaiian shirt!
