There are none who can recall, whether in living memory or through the dusty lens of history, a time when the denizens of Foggy Bottom could enjoy a clear sky. It has always been a place of perpetual murk and obfuscation, populated by strange creatures and beasts the like of which exist nowhere else on the planet, nor are they often seen in their natural habit, for no sooner do a stranger aproacheth, then they slink into the impenetrable muck and emit a sonorous croaking that is pleasing to the ears but perversely devoid of any melody or meaning, and the stranger cannot help but be bewitched by it, to such extent that he forgets himself and wonders how on earth he came to be in that strange place, and thus after much difficulty struggles to make his way home, though he can never again wash the stain nor the reek of that quagmire from his body. It remains on him, a memory he must carry into the most personal and intimate of spaces, reminding him of his state of perdition, which he may have escaped in body, but not in soul.

I would rejoice about bunny clouds and their raisinette raindrops. I much prefer that to the donkey and elephant showers we are currently getting. Can’t wait for a change in seasons.

This is why I never gaze up at the clouds—especially not with my mouth open!
