It’s a hose. And that AINT good news

I felt the same as Toni about my own wedding. I didn’t care about the minutia, as long as we weren’t married by an Elvis impersonator. Although it would be amusing to see us trying not to crack up the whole time.

Blue/white/black were our wedding colors.

Normally, I’d ignore Shannon, but a “plot” is being staged by having both TJ and Brad abandon the scene. Toni, who doesn’t want to handle wedding plans is being set up to handle a real problem.

Not only is Shannon carrying a hose, it’s obviously ready to use, there’s water drops coming out… I think TJ told her that a good renovator “Cleans up” their area, when done and, that’s what she’s about to do!

This is going up a bit late, but “thanks” to everyone that voted in yesterday’s poll.

I’m assuming TJ got the OK from Brad’s parents before the remodeling, since they’re the landlords who own the house.

And I could see Toni regretting the decision to have no input on her wedding. She might be surprised to find out how much she actually does care about it.

Toni is about to get too much of a surprise thanks to Shannon. That hose is already dripping when i enlarge the comic.

The real fireworks will be AFTER the wedding.

Wedding planning has gotten completely out of hand. Now weddings have themes. I always thought the theme of a wedding was ‘marriage’.

The surprise is that Brad is gay.

OMG! I can’t begin to imagine what my wedding would have looked like if I left it up to my husband! We had a New Years Eve wedding, so all the pieces had to work together to pull it off.

And thanks to all who responded to me recently.I can’t be a regular with comments, but the Luann discussion pages have actually been very important to me (pulled me out of some dark places), and I have made some wonderful friendships.I’ve recently come back, because I was pretty sure about the 9/11 Wedding, but I have been corrected, thank you Brdshtt and others.Is dear Dazzle still around?

Brad doesn’t even know what forget-me-nots are.

Shannon is slapping up masking tape inches away from bent and exposed nails (without safety equipment), and then she is bringing a running garden hose into the house, while Brad and Shannon continue to totally ignore her. If Team Evans is trying to lead up to the inevitable “adoption” story arc by making Brad and Toni appear to be more responsible and caring parents than Jonah (whom Shannon loves) is, then they’re not doing a very good job of it.-

3Not a huge amount happening in today’s comic. It is interesting how Brad does seem to truly WANT to talk about ideas and choices for the wedding, even though he has been given full authority by Toni to just “handle it”. To me, that suggests that Brad really is focused on trying to do the right thing for both he and Toni. This shows an even deeper level of caring in their relationship, IMO, by Brad than we have seen previously and is nice.Again, because Toni feels overwhelmed in the process of making the decisions, she sort of “shushes” Brad by telling him that whatever he decides (other than the balloon scenario is fine by her). This response by Toni ALSO IMO shows her deep care for their relationship, because she took a gentle, kind way to remind Brad that she did not want to be involved in the decisions to that level.So… I guess, from my perspective, this arc over the the last three weeks has IMO resulted in Greg being able to show some significant further growth and deepening of the relationship by Brad and Toni. I think Greg did this quite adroitly too. The path they both followed was the path of compromise where both found ways to be happy for each other as individuals and for their status as a couple. To my manner of thinking, such growth in their relationship would not have been shown if a) they had simply eloped, or b) if Toni would have just grumpily told Brad to do it himself.Very, very nice, Greg! Showing artistically over the last three weeks how an emotionally healthy couple can deepen their love! Any predictions on what the presumed new arc will be on Monday? I am hoping for a Luann/Pitt CC arc as my top choice. My second favorite choice would be for the presumed new arc to be any one of the various Moony U arcs.

Glaring fact: Toni is hot to trot. Brad is not.

The wedding will be a part of the narrative until it happens. Simple as that.

Let it go, Bradley. You have already been granted carte blanche in the matter. Just deal with matters as they arise. If Toni finds something unacceptable, she can use her miraculous speaking organ.

I thought that some of you might like this piece on a woman who enjoyed her alone time but also loved excitement. “Blue and white color scheme”? “Forget-me-nots”? This is not the Brad DeGroot who has been a character in this strip from its beginning until, well, now. If they wanted to introduce a new brother into the strip, they should have called him something other than “Brad”.

Living with TJ, some appreciation of the finer things must have rubbed off on Brad.

If tomorrow Gunther were shown to be a suave playboy sipping cocktails while clinging to a bevy of lingerie models, or if Knute were shown to be reading tomes of Elizabethan poetry while pondering the effects of US balance of trade on foreign policy, would readers just shrug and say, “People change”? This Brad is a different character from the one that has been a part of the DeGroot family all these years.

And after all that Shannon is being ignored anyway. Hilarious

To which I say: Looking back at yesterday’s first panel, you can see Brad holding his smartphone, which seems to be indicating that he either called or texted the planner to arrange a new start time for the meeting.^^^^^^^^^^^^^Which is what I was saying. He called and rescheduled for later THAT SAME DAY.

Once again.. I think this is Toni’s way of saying (to Brad).. “stop talking to me about the wedding…. I’m not interested in the details……..just plan it and I’ll be there…”.

Handling the Young Remodeler will indeed be a test for Toni as both Brad and TJ scurry off. But I expect that she will handle the situation hinted at in today’s background quite well. At least, I think, the house will still be there when the boys get back….

And Shannon in the background is the funniest part, as usual.

I’m really having a difficult time getting on board with this strip. It’s a cross between Ozzie & Harriet and Dr. Strangelove. The Nelsons were traditional parents with traditional values and Dr. Strangelove was the crew of a B-52 just flying around waiting for the Russians to do something. In reality (like this strip) nothing ever happened. Ozzie went to the emporium…..shopping. The B-52s burned up a lot of fuel and made a lot of smoke and noise on the ground. If Luann was hooked up to a heart monitor, it would flatline.

Brad talks to the wedding planner on the telephone. He is in his room, lying on the bed.“Cutlery. I’ve been looking at patterns, and I much prefer a studded filigree to a floral design. It makes a more elegant statement for silverware to be abstract in design rather than literal, don’t you think?”[picks his teeth with a plastic spork]“Sashes for the chairs. We must have sashes. Boy people are spending a lot of time planning two comic characters wedding today! Guess you are Trufans or some kind of fan, even if you a a Nitpicking or even Trollfan. I think I will take the Serenity Prayer approach to the comments today. There will be a wedding though, and I wonder how close it will be to what people suggest it will be.
