Don’t just stand there! Run to the closest waffle house and get one loaded with strawberries and cream. It’s the respectful thing to do on Waffle Day.

It’s kind of a shame there are no U.S. federal holidays in August.

August 13th is International Left-Handers Day and was before the trend even stared. Of course only lefties like me really care about that.

I hope at least one of those days coincides with Maple Syrup Day! It would be not be as sappy if not.Of course, it might be overlapped by Whipped Cream Commemoration Day. That’d be o.k.

I’m so thankful there are national and international days celebrating everyday things. I’d never know on what days I should eat specific foods or glorify the mundane!

Politicians will do anything to avoid honest work: they are allergic to both words. So, drawing up a proclamation for National (or State, or Municipal) Something-or-other Day is much more comfortable.Happy Waffle Day! (Though like NeedaChuckle I prefer crepes.)

There already is a National Nothing Day – January 16. However, this caused a controversy once as a McDonald’s in Memphis gave out calendars that marked 1/16 as National Nothing Day…when it was a Monday, which also made it the MLK holiday, and a number of people considered it intentional and racist.

I just read an entry on Wikipedia that indicates it isn’t necessary for the President to issue a proclamation for something to receive national observance status, but that Congress merely asking the President can assure it a place in the Code of Federal Regulations.

Hm. Looks like it’s National Love People Day. Also National Chewing Gum Day, International Podcast Day, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil Day. That will make for a bizarre parade!
