Hubris, from ancient Greek describes a personality quality of extreme or foolish pride or dangerous over-confidence. In its ancient Greek context, it typically describes behavior that defies the norms of behavior or challenges the gods, and which in turn brings about the downfall, or nemesis, of the perpetrator of hubris.

83% of voters are P.T. Barnumesque suckers.

It’s no wonder Hitler et al. made/make them no more than robotic, witless participants in their own doom.

It’s the chronic victory of frustration, ignorance, bafflement, and misplaced trust over hope, common sense, and prudence.

People laff but he has 40% of the vote at the starting gate. It will be an interesting presidency, maybe the last elected one.

I knew that the GOP would come around and start kissing Trump’s butt!

The Republican party collapsed into complete free-for-all with elected representatives using their position of power for personal gain. Trump will go down as one of the most corrupt presidential candidates in the history of the world. Trump marching on his way to his coronation feeling his money makes him American royalty. Trump has broken the law, but the Republicans don’t care because he is their king. To the right-wing, Trump is above the law. Look at the law suits coming out against Trump, but we are just serfs in his Kingdom, he is above us and above the law. All Hail King Trump, and keep your own nose clean, serf. Now peons, line up and vote for your King and advance your own subjugation. The massive public display of abject and willing servility is just a few months away and promises to be very embarrassing to the GOP.

Wonder if Trump will finally crack completely and admit that he raped a child. (Of course, he will no doubt say it was consensual, and he might even believe it…….)

“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.” “The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.” “The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master—that’s all.”

The Republican party needs to quietly abandon Trump (which is what they are doing), focus on the Senate and Congressional races, and figure out how this will not happen next time around.
