I had to carry a broadsword into several stores while looking for something I could use for fighting in an Arthurian Renaissance faire. (Modern fencing gloves look too much like what they are.) No hassles. (Long doeskins look good, are wonderfully soft and supple, and offer surprisingly good protection.)
