Maybe you can even have an Amerikastan with more than one party pretending to be two, one where the only choices are between an Anointed of Wall Street and a Guaranteed Loser. That is Trump’s real sin. He is not a guaranteed loser, and Wall Street doesn’t like having a genuine threat to its Anointed, the mass murdering war criminal Killary Klingon.
Republicans are faking everyone out. They all agree with Trump but aren’t showing their hand. Then in November Democrats won’t vote as usual, thinking they got it won. Good move.
For at least the past two generations, Republicans have depended on the Religious Right types to support them, and they have been very dependable, despite the fact that very few of them have enough money that they were not working against their own best interests. For them, it didn’t have anything to do with economics, because they were convinced that the Republicans believed in the Family Values agenda- anti-gay, anti-abortion, etc. Somehow they managed not to notice that once Republicans were elected, they completely ignored that agenda, or make it a trade-off for securing the goals of the 1%ers who were controlling the Republican party. In fact, they rarely mentioned those issues unless they were using them as a bargaining chip—- until the next time they needed volunteers, when it again became their mantra.
…………….. After around 40 years, the Religious Right finally figured out that the Establishment Republicans were playing them for fools, which created the Tea Party, which at least managed to elect some people who are doing something about the issues that are important to the Religious Right. They are continuing to prove they are fools by voting for anyone who isn’t an Establishment Republican. The fact that they are considering Donald Trump, who has the Family Values credentials of a tomcat, is an indication of just how desperately they hate the establishment. Nevertheless, they continue to consider themselves Republicans, and will vote for the anti establishment candidate who is running on the Republican ticket, while also hating everything he represents.
The GOP became a party that couldn’t even listen to its own constituents. It’s registered Republicans who voted for Trump and still the party won’t get the message. They’ll still go on pandering to the “My Jesus is better than your Jesus” crowd.
I totally dislike Trump and I sure wish someone better (almost anyone would be better) was running. But he did give the Republican party the kick in the head it needed. Whether they get the message or go back on Cruz control remains to be seen.
Thank you to the entire Republican field for a hard fought race. The Party is better for your efforts, by killing off the right-wing. Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to mourn the GOP, a once-great political party, killed by epidemic of Trump. So WTF are the Republicans smoking? The Party is over. You allowed this abomination. You FAILED.The GOP is a parody of what it once was.
The reason the deficit appeared smaller at the end of W’s reign is that he never put his two wars in the budget. Turns out it was more like $1.5 trillion when you actually account for them.
