Smokers think they have a super power to keep anyone else from smelling it. They’re wrong.-I was in a doctor’s waiting room when a pair of smokers came in, stinking so badly, I had to leave the room, because I thought I was going to be sick.

My son was 18 before he realized I was a smoker, when I accidentally lit up in front of him. Mark you I never ever smoked at home.

Thirdhand smoke — I teach, and I can tell when a kid’s parents smoke. The smell draws into everything!

That’s why a lot of smokers gain weight after quitting, All of a sudden they can smell and taste better so they eat more of what’s tasting good. My dad was that way, but he quit too late. I have to wash my grandsons clothes because of the smell from his mom and dad smoking.

I had to give the Schnauzer a bath as soon as we got home from visiting my mom and dad, who smoked constantly. And wash my own hair; change clothes; shower….

After I quit smoking, my wife could always tell when I’d been in the bar, because of the second hand smoke on my clothes – those were the days when you could still smoke in bars and restaurants.

Now, I can smell from my 3rd floor patio when someone is smoking on the street, below.

I quit smoking in 1996. Senses of smell and taste started coming back in a couple of weeks. I’ve never been able to get the smell out of the house completely. Every once in awhile, in winter when the house is closed up, I catch a whiff of that cigarette stink.

The other thing that smokers sometimes don’t think about is how they smell (or taste) when kissing a non-smoker. Yuck! Brushing your teeth or a mint will help, but eventually it will happen, and when it does don’t expect a pleasant reaction.

Amazing how hard the bars, restaurants and bowling alleys fought anti-smoking regulations; thought they would all go out of business. Didn’t happen. Now non-smokers can go anywhere and not have to put up with this—-yessssss!

I used to hate to send my children with their father’s mother. They would come home stinking so bad! She would smoke in the car, that’s the worst! And they had asthma.

Anyone read the Stephen King book Night Shift? In particular the chapter “Quitters, Incorporated” made me think of this strip.

Whenever I walked into a cubicle to interview my next patient, I immediately knew if they were a smoker. They stink of it!

The reason so much of TV and movies are set in the 1950-60 period is that the Tobacco Institute is doing a generic product placement to bring back smoking.

Someone was smoking at the outdoor concert tonight. I couldn’t see who, but it is fortunate it was three pieces from the end or I couldn’t have finished playing.
