    It would have happened faster if he had selected Palin. She endorsed Trump and he lost Alaska. She could bring down any candidate.

    Cruz formally names Fiorina as his VP running mate. A last-ditch move to regain momentum after being mathematically eliminated form winning the GOP presidential nomination outright. Typically, candidates do not name VP picks until after they are the presumptive nominee and soon before the convention. But Cruz is pinning his hopes on a contested GOP convention. Especially after his disastrous two weeks in the Northeast where he was mathematically finished.
