Why would Congress make it illegal when they also profit from it? I doubt there’s much interest in Congress in clamping down on the donor class.

Wow, denis, try again.First of all, there’s a LONG list of corporations who do that, and they have been enabled in this by tax laws passed by the GOP.Secondly, your numbers lead to a false impression, which is that the rich pay more than the poor. That is more in absolute terms, it is completely NOT true in percentage terms. The very wealthy can in fact use the same shell companies referred to in the cartoon above, and they have lower taxes on unearned income – inheritance, investments, etc. So they pay less on ALL the income they make, even if they pay comparable amounts on earned income. And note that for top executives, relatively little of their pay is salary.

Only the communists would want the rich to pay their fair share of taxes right? It must be a dirty anti-American plot to hold companies that make money off of us, send our jobs overseas and re-write our laws to the same kind of tax laws of 5 or 10 years ago. If they all paid their taxes, some people might unfairly get medical coverage or be able to eat tonight.

Very good post. I used to wonder what could they possibly want with more money than they could ever spend.Since then I realized that they can’t be reasoned with, and that they are buying up safe places where nuclear fallout will not get to them or their big, mafia style families or under mountains so they can live for however many years it will take to heal the world from WW3.

Good luck getting the republican congress making the tax codes fairer. Republicans tax the poor to give tax breaks to the rich.
