first time of Snoopy’s thought balloons?

Nope. He’s had them before. This is, however, proof that it still hasn’t been clearly established that he’s Charlie Brown’s dog.

Ok, this is more like the Snoopy I know.

I love the way Snoopy is drawn in these old strips – Very adorable!

First time Snoopy did the Snoopy dance, first time Snoopy thought in thought balloons, and first time the doghouse is seen. This is definitely a comic of firsts!

And so the legend begins.

“Say, it’s getting late…” In my childhood that would be expressed as, “Hey, the street lights are coming on. Time to go home.”

I wonder what Scroeder’s playng : maybe a Lud Van sonata as “Fur Elise”

Wow! I’m struck by how quite sudden it is, really — the thought(/speech) balloons, the doghouse, the surreal notion of a doghouse with TV etc. These early strips continue to fascinate me.

Good for you, Snoopy! But how did you get the antenna up there, not to mention the television installed? :D

Oh boy, the days of analog TV! Me, Tink, and others as children lived it!

A dog house with electricity and television. Pretty cool. Ilike how snoopy was drawn in the early years.

I love the way the TV light shines out onto the lawn.

The dog house only gets more elaborate as the years go by. Pool table, jacuzzi etc. Maybe that’s why he ends up sleeping on the roof, too crowded inside.

So now that’s he’s dancing, how soon till he starts walking upright?

It never occurred to me before, but Snoopy’s doghouse is like the Doctor’s TARDIS—bigger on the inside.

…and that’s when Snoopy jumped the shark…
