Peanuts Begins by Charles Schulz for May 08, 2016

Someone put the color layer over the outline layer.

Today’s strip. Originally tried twice to post it as an image link to the Peanuts archive page but the image didn’t show even though the link was there as a blank space you could click on. Click the link to be taken to the original so you can read it. Cause as I post this it’s nearly totally unreadable even enlarged. Whoever colorized today’s strip goofed big time.

Being a Sunday strip, wouldn’t this have been in colour to begin with? I wonder if it’s just that it’s been scanned with blacks accidentally turned transparent.

Never mind. I hadn’t seen F6F5Hellcat’s link when I wrote that.

This makes me mindful of Walt Whitman’s clarion call to liberation in “Leaves of Grass”. “Unscrew the locks from the doors! Unscrew the doors themselves from their jambs!”

Thanks, but unfortunately. That doesn’t work either. The ads are blocking some of the panels and there’s no way of closing them.

The ads DO cover the last frame, which Schulz probably could not have written in 2016. The PC police would have called for a protest against “Peanuts”! People had a sense of humor when “Peanuts began”. No more….

Thanks for posting the original strip Toonerific. Hilarious tha the boys worked themselves practically to death for a club they can’t enter because it’s only for girls.

Did you do the coloring? If so, thanks for going to even more time and effort than I did. Heck, if all you did was take the blurry image GoComics gave us and clean it up so it could be read that would still be more time and effort than I put in.

Wow, what happened here? I thought it was the connection, but it turns out it’s the ink itself. Anyway, thanks for the image Toonerific. I remember this one well. Uncool. Even though I’m a girl, I would have never done this to boys that helped me.
