California is considering “Opting Out” on Daylight-Savings time. It is my hope and the hope of every business in California that they do “Opt Out” and stop this nonsense. For twenty five years I pulled the 2 AM shift to correct the clocks on equipment located in ICU’s, ER’s, Telemetry and Labor and Delivery locations all over Los Angeles. And spending valuable manpower updating all the other departments later on in the day. This madness has to end.

Judging by the mobs in Chicago last night, it is just a matter of time before there is some real violence at a Trump rally. The two groups are mostly very angry and willing to rumble.

If you want to discuss the riots at the Trump rallies in Chicago and St. Louis, take notice of who was protesting at them and it wasn’t just “Black Lives Matter” at these.-There appeared to be anarchists—probably from Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley judging by the way they dressed in the videos shown—in those crowds and people who also organized and participated in the “Occupy” movements from various cities all over the United States, just like there were many Trump supporters transported in from other parts of the country brought in to attend—some of them dressed like they were from rural parts of Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan…too bad we could not listen to their accents to determine exactly where they came from.-Hopefully those in Law Enforcement and even the DHS and FBI are using their facial recognition software to find out who is actually protesting at these gatherings and where they came from.-And yes, they do need to gather the video they captured during the “Occupy” movement demonstrations back in 2010 and 2011, too, especially in Oakland.-These protests took an uglier turn in Chicago, as if there was a “Mother Jones” and the “Wobblies” of the Industrial Workers of the World (“IWW”) moving in with the striking miners of Colorado Fuel & Iron over at their makeshift camp at Ludlow over in the Orphan county.-Not sure who wants to be the next “Captain Linderfelt” on this one.-Or since it is happening in Chicago, perhaps the reference should be to the Haymarket Riots some 28 years before the Ludlow Massacre.-I have no sympathy for Mr. Trump or his campaign—he ain’t getting my vote, period—but at the same time, protesting at rallies organized for him is the wrong way to go about things, especially if all it has been doing is strengthening Mr. Trump’s resolve and expanding his support especially amongst the angry people upset at what’s being going on in our names by the US Government, and what’s been going wrong inside that government.-And the protesters probably got their wish last night—Mr. Trump and his campaign “caved in” and cancelled their rallies over the weekend, not just in Chicago, but also in Cincinnati, too.-And for those who want to blame him for possibly thwarting the “democratic process” when he has been using it like any other demagogue would, the protesters seemed more undemocratic in their approach than either Mr. Trump or his campaign has been by turning into an unruly crowd and an ugly mob—shame on them!

If we must have DST, and I’m not advocating for that, I wish it would go back to starting in April and ending in October as it once was. I think during the Carter administration, we kept the DST for one year. It was a terrible decision, especially in the northern regions. Thankfully, it went away the following year. But, at least we got to see how it would be…blech!

I do sometimes have issues when I include a live link directly after a paragraph break. It screws the link completely. I use 2 carriage-returns within notepad and it then works :-s I haven’t quite figured the reason." I cannot retrieve the commands "Yes, because of that annoying ‘feature’ I have taken to using for editing the rather simple “notepad.exe” instead of word-pad, I forget what issue I had years ago ;-)Sometimes it takes a few submits (and deletes!) to get the syntax all sorted. And there’s nothing worse than realising a syntax error has screwed something and you hadn’t been using an editor… :PMartens has mentioned before there was a bug with the website’s software when applying links immediately, that one had to use it after some characters of text. Not sure any version upgrades has fixed this since I also sometimes find I cannot reply to someone, which I suspect is because of a formatting issue above me or within the post of whoever I am replying to and is causing syntax issues downstream.

When I first started using this forum, their posting software allowed post-edits (and flagged them as edited). We were all annoyed they changed it to this version.

Meanwhile, it is 11am UTC and I’m getting this error:This website is under heavy load (queue full). We’re sorry, too many people are accessing this website at the same time. We’re working on this problem. Please try again later.

Aren’t most GC users North American? 11am UTC makes it at the moment 4am PDT; 7am EDT…Everyone on the Eastern sea-board reads their comics at 7am…?

    Preach hate, reap hate.

Of course Trump blames Sanders; according to Nazi philosophy, it’s always the fault of the Jews.

Yes, I agree; it would be nice to get actual news. Other things are happening in the world beside the Trump and Hillary show, but Americans won’t hear about them.

Tune into Al Jazeera and BBC America if you want to break out of the syndrome of ignorance American news outlets support.
