Assumes facts not in evidence. It hasn’t been shown that there’s a heaven. If there is, what are The Reagans doing there? Unless this is hell, and hell is extremely ironic.

The Repug Party has long since gone off the rails. When you consider that their vaunted Saint Ronnie would be too liberal to be considered a serious candidate today, and that the Pope – the Pope! – isn’t conservative enough for these loons …….

The worst of it is, the plurality of Republicans don’t even like the current platform (hence Trump). Trump is not a reaction of the people to politics in DC – Trump is a reaction of many Republicans to politics in the Republican party!

Hard to blame an establishment Republican for checking out at this point.

Let’s hope for Ronnie’s sake Alzheimer’s carries over so he doesn’t have to be shocked by those who invoke his legacy as their attempted heist of the White House.

I think Reagan and his wife believed in all they said, but I don’t think all they said was worth believing. More and more, I see that he took the country backward instead of forward, back to its self-deluded glory days after World War Two..And thus his party has come to the sad state it’s in: old people, old ideas, old memories on parade, and non-relevant to solving present and future problems. “Stay the course,” indeed.

Reagan was the kind of actor who showed up, hit his marks and said his lines (“I can’t believe they pay me for this!”).Many modern actors actually go to the trouble to understand why their characters do what they do , and what the human condition really is, and would make great politicians. They’re just too smart to run for office.

Kasich worked alongside Ronald Reagan, if you want to know what the “Grand Old-School Party” would look like. It would take an extremely unlikely series of events to make Mr. Kasich the Republican nominee. But for those who pine for the old conservative, he is still there – he is just sneered at and called a RINO by the new guard. He actually had a good strong, above-the-fray debate – I felt he would be the winner of the GOP debate. However, that approach is just not working this year with all of the unruly adolescents on the stage.

Well, I don’t know that he’d recall what happened. I wonder how he would feel about all of the trickling that didn’t happen. He was the last Republican who seemed to at least give lip service to the poor. (I’m not talking about minority poor here) I wonder if he was sold a bill of goods on trickle down, or if he had already lined his pockets with the rest of them. Saint Ronnie indeed.

Ronald Reagan followed George Murphy from acting into conservative politics, acting as a governor, then becoming the acting President. These current crop are very bad actors indeed. Much as Ron was teased, Trump, Cruz, and Rubio, would all be better for the country to hand things over to Bonzo.

If anything Reagan would envy Cruz and Trump and wishes he never had to deal with a Democratic Congress.

I think Reagan wouldn’t be surprised that a fellow “entertainer” such as himself could be a front-runner (Drumpf/Trump). The Cruz thing is a natural outgrowth of the John Birch Society, now known as the “tea party.” They don’t even care that he wasn’t born in the US, just so long as he says the crazy things they want to hear.
