No, that one is the republican gesture to all of America. Especially after the rest of the fingers crumble.

Thanks to the egotistic unwillingness of the obvious losers to bow out, Trump’s going to get a plurality for the GOP nom.

Should he get the nomination who will be comfortable as his running mate? Second place is a loser in the world of Trump so should prove interesting.

The lines in the middle of the hand form an “M” for money. (As an old man once told a naive young me.)

An increasingly irrational cadre of supporters have defended Trump’s middle-finger politics as if the man is disciplined, serious-minded politician who is brilliantly exposing the failures and hypocrisies of the American political system. Arguing with some ardent Trump supporters is exhausting simply because they don’t really care about the things we normally care about when measuring a politician’s merits. Consistency is no concern. Temperament is for lesser mortals. Good character is for chumps. Intellectual rigor — or even coherence — is the fixation of “the smart set” that allegedly got us into this mess. Trump is a blind, crazed, bull in a China shop smashing and stomping everything to bits, and his fans stand on the side and salute his genius and care. There is a rush to insist that Trump can do no wrong and it is not merely intellectually incoherent and morally indefensible, it is poisonous. Imagine if, in 2008, Barack Obama had ridiculed John McCain for being captured and tortured. Every single member of Trump’s amen chorus would have denounced the comments unequivocally. But when Trump does it, the response is to marvel at how he survived the statement. That’s not moral or intellectual seriousness, it’s blatant power worship. And it is disgusting.Trump’s supporters have been crucial in bringing the middle finger to our doorsteps.

It seems the more some people in power ridicule Trump, the more he is becoming the sympathetic anti-hero to others.

There is humor in rudeness, at least for some folks.Trump is a warm up act.To make him the headliner would be a yuuge mistake. His shtick is about all he’s got. It would get way old in four years.

I know about that one. Legend has it that bowmen showed two fingers to the French back during the Hundred Years’ War to show they could still shoot. If you know anything about that war you should be aware that English bowmen took down more French armoured knights and men-at-arms in pitched battles than the reverse.
