The republican cowards dig their heels into the dirt once again and destroy America’s credibility with the world. Republicans have no observable redeeming features.

BTW: Giitmo has been US Territory since we gave Cuba their independence, and they gave us Gitmo. It was illegal from the first day and first prisoner. Now it will cost as much PER PRISONER to keep it open, as what a standard prison with a poplation of several hundred costs to run. Just consider the cost you “fiscal conservatives”!

We haven’t had credibility since, IDK, maybe since before Reagan? or maybe since Daaddy Bush. we should care about Not having Credibility and start playing well with others.

Gitmo is contrary to our values as Americans. Terrorists are using Gitmo as propaganda to recruit and maintaining it harms U.S. national security. It is hurting not advancing our efforts to keep America safe and combat terrorism abroad. Closing the detention facility will strengthen our national security and affirm our values and laws. It is disappointing that Republicans have worked to prevent the long-overdue closure of the Guantanamo facility.

A few days ago I watched the film “Valley of Elah” and it ended with a flag being hoisted upside down. I thought that must be significant and looked it up; found out it means ‘In Peril’ or ‘In Distress’, therefore a plea for help.

I watch the right-wing nuts in Austria and want to do the same but, darn, right way up or upside down makes no difference! Likewise the EU flag. No, I was wrong, the EU Flag upside down shows the upper point of the stars pointing down…Hmm. A whimper for help?

Night gaunt: number one lesson of military SERE school, torture doesn’t work, and is counter-productive.
