This is why you know what you are going to war for and get it done…Otherwise someone like Obama ends up in charge of it.

How does it honor our troops to let them be killed in a pointless and usless war.

If they are dying needlessly due to the stupidy and errors of others, then it is our duty to step forward and speak up for them.

By the way PUB - Bush went to war for oil and to show his Dad that he was better then him, he never sent enough troops, he never had a plan to win the war or the peace, and he pulled troops from Afganistan – When you’re thinking of November think about the point that these wars and the destroyed economy are the fault of the very people you want to put back into power.

Ken, I asked that same question when it was time to re-enlist. Part of me feels like I gave up on my country. The other part feels like my country stole eight years from me.

    @ Warren and Kent

All you have to do is convince Obama, Hillary and the Democratic party. Good luck. Somehow they keep disagreeing with you. Is it possible Obama knows something you don’t?

LIB - I think we should get out, and I feel you support the Conservatives, so I hope you will agree with me that (in an election year) no politican will take any big step unless he has both parties behind him.

You push the GOP and I will continue to push the DEMS.

    Ken

Serious for a second. My natural inclination is indeed to get out. Just the way i felt about Viet Nam. But yesterday Church (?) wrote a fact filled defense. It made me pause. Church has a lot of common sense.

There must be something there to have Obama, Hillary, Cheney, Joint Chiefs etc all agree. Maybe there is something they know that I don’t.

I knew Obama was just plain wrong about Guantanamo and after he was elected belatedly he realized the facts of life. Maybe something like that going on here.

I actually agree with the libertatian. the left was feral to have a end to the wars. to go against that is tantamount to political suicide. yet here we are. It gives me a fear that we are not privy to some greater tactical truth to the war in Afghanistan. forestalling armed conflict between india and pakistan? keeping a standing army right on the ground gives plenty of disincentive to stir the pot. I want withdrawal, but not at the cost of a region collapsing into chaos. ww3 will be ignited by india and pakistan if it comes at all, followed by a cascade of conflicts across the middle east and following into north african continent, such that most nations with available resources will be pulled in to police the conflicts and establish new hegemonies through these alliances.

not good. especially with supplies coming from china, north Korea, and god knows where else, we are looking at a protracted land war with ever present threat of nuclear exchange. then again, that could be the plan. shuffle the deck.

Hey Pup, Bush did such a great job, we’re still there, longest war in US history. Yeah, let’s get some more of that GOP leadership!

^That’s why he avoided ramping up in the first place…I remember the media harping on and on about how we must not let down the Afghanistan people this time…How they were let down by the West after the Soviets were forced to leave…How we let ‘em down when the Taliban came to power and took away Women’s Rights…Despite all that , Bush tried to keep it “in Country”… Remember the Girl on the National Geographic cover - how they dug her up and tried to use her as the Poster “Lady” of their compassionate concern for the people of Afghanistan?

You Libs are nothing but living lying human-turds!

^And the Lib-marxists don’t know what the hell their doing…

Fail to see how its better for us or the Afghanis, now or later if the Libbys get their way. But I guess in Lib circles losing respect and economic strength (in the future, especially if Osama-wannabe’s attack the Congress or the UN, etc); to lose those both at the same time would be a win-win.

Neo-cons did such a good job, we’re still in Iraq and Afghanistan. Oh, more please, more neo-con “leadership.”
