Their actual names were Henry D. Haynes (Homer) and Kenneth C. Burns (Jethro)..There was a Jethro in the Bible (Moses father in law), but I don’t think there was a Homer. I am pretty sure the name Homer comes from the acient greek writer of the Illiad and the Ocyssey.
