Ted Rall for January 27, 2016
Transcript:
For years, Hillary Clinton has been called the "inevitable" Democratic nominee in 2016. But why? She's only won elected office once in her life- in an election that was handed to her on a silver platter. That was in 2000, when she ran for the US Senate, she got Democratic bosses to force Nita Lowey, the previous frontrunner, to bow out. Then one year before the race, the carpetbagger moved to the state. NYC Rudy Giullani had been expected to be a strong Republican opponent in the general election. But his marriage fell apart amid a sex scandal, and he got prostate cancer. He bowed out. The GOP picked long island congressman Rick Lazio to run against her. Lazio was obscure, uncharismatic and closely tied to right-winger Newt Gingrich- a figure loathed by most New Yorkers. He never stood a chance. Despite her weak opponent, Hillary didn't do nearly as well as expected in liberal New York. She only carried a few countries. If she wins the presidency, it'll be the first time she won a political campaign fair and square. History in the making!

Ted, do the names Blair Hull, Jack Ryan or Alan Keyes ring a bell?Clinton won 67% of the vote in her 2006 Senate re-election. I ain’t thrilled with the Hill, but the GOP slate is a toxic spew even by their usual standards. Bernie seems more Howard Dean than Obama.

I’m a Sanders supporter, but I’m also a supporter of cartoonists not being either dishonest or incompetent. Twice, Ted. That’s actually twice as many as once. Really. I’ve done the math.

She never cared about NY. She used the state to advance her career. What did she do to advance the interests of NY while she was senator?

Is Rall getting money from Trump? He certainly seems to want a Trump presidency. Actually I think it is inevitable especially if Bloomberg runs.

Bernie’s won a ton of elections, but how many were competitive elections?

So? Sadly, her career isn’t that much different from some other politicians. Might Robert F. Kennedy be comparable? And there are variations on this theme for many smaller elective offices. Illinois is notorious for family-business rigged successions, if not elections. I’m looking at an ad on this site right now that kind of states the case. To paraphrase: “Make Democracy your B***h.”

And carpet baggers were northern who came south after the southern succession war. I say that because no war is civil.

Uncle Joe: So cute to see someone who thinks an incumbent running is in a fair election.
While getting 67% isn’t bad, McCain got 60% in my home state and we saw how well he did nationally. (And we won’t start on how unpopular he really is here)

Bernie Sander is a mouthpiece for frustrated Americans tired of the theft of wealth by the 1%, but do you really think he can hold his own on an international level? Putin would eat him for lunch. Or can ANY of the Republicans? Hillary is one tough cookie; she’s put up with all the mudslinging since the day she stepped into the WH as First Lady and she’s still standing.

Learned something.

And yet all of this considered – she is still better than anything the right is proposing. How disappointing that this is the best we can do collectively as a nation.

In actual fact, New York City is fairly liberal. Upstate New York, far more republican. So no surprise in that map. Look at a red/blue map of the US: most of the red is empty land.

Back when Bill Clinton was first nominated, some people argued that Hilary Clinton had a better resume, and the only reason he got the nomination instead was that she was a woman.

Her ISIS plans sound the same as well. At least she is left-most republican.

It’s amusing how people pretend that Killary Klingon isn’t the bought and paid for Anointed of Wall Street, and that the rest of the so called candidates as well as your elections aren’t just a circus to keep you entertained and to legitimise her already guaranteed entry into the White House. With her form as a blood soaked, mass murdering, amoral, unscrupulous, mendacious war criminal, she’s ideal for your only industry, war making and imperialism.

Despite my dislike for her, I will give credit where it is due. She is intelligent and as a graduate of Yale Law School I imagine she would have been successful without marrying Bill. Check Wikipedia.

In the American South the “Civil War” is still taught in schools and commonly referred to as “the war of northern aggression”.
