Regulated means trained. A well trained militia means that any male from 16 to 60 who knows how to use and care for a weapon.

Now that is enlightened! A group of protesters (who best I can tell haven’t destroyed anything) you apparently don’t agree with should be nuked.

Freedom fighters, fighting for the freedom to steal what they want. One of these bozos appropriated a federal vehicle to go into town and buy Funions. He was arrested for stolen property. Another encountered a 79 year old birdwatcher. He challenged the grandfather with his BIG GUN. The old fart laid him out. And these a*h*les are ready to take on ISIS? LOL!

@wolfhoundblues1 — Actually, “regulated” does not mean “trained.” It means “to control or direct by a rule, principle, method, etc.”

If they are regulated, then they should be nationalized under the same section and forthwith sent into harms way, relieving loyal citizens of that danger..Of course, the thugs in the cartoon are no such thing, and fall under Article III, Section 3 regarding levying war against the United States.

If you are using the Second Amendment as a reason why you get to take over land. What happens when someone shows up with a bigger gun?

Matt depicts it well, but understates actually how the Bundys and their “militia” buddies stack up.

1. They’ve committed treason, in Nevada and again in Oregon by taking up arms against the United States. (They don’t have to fire them.

2. There is absolutely NO SUPPORT FOR THEIR CLAIMS Of “OWNERSHIP” in the Constitution, or in over 200 years of laws and court decisions including the SCOTUS.

3. The Bundys are thieves, stealing over a million dollars from TAXPAYERS, as well as causing damage to the public lands that belong to ALL OF US.

Having only 40+ years dealing with folks using, and in the case of most ranchers, abusing, the land for pennies on the dollar they pay in leasing, while getting benefits worth billions such as water projects, seedlings, etc

I am sickened that anyone thinks these CRIMINALS represent the actual minority of ranchers (by far, most ranches are owned by corporations, not “families”) who cooperate with the government and actually care for the land properly and don’t complain about the miniscule fees they pay.

There is a massive effort out there, including in Congress, to steal away the most sacred right of ALL Amercians to manage, protect, and preserve the public lands, BLM, Forest Service, F & WS, National Parks, and other resource agencies, for the public good, as established in the Constitution, Laws, and regulations.

Even as oil prices drop because of a glut, some on the right still demand “drill baby drill” on public land to essentially steal that resource as well from the taxpayer at far below fair market value, while destroying the land, and waters (fresh and oceanic) forever.

This dustup on the Malheur is but a mere tip on the iceberg of theft, lies, and treason actually, committed by those out to steal our heritage, that also includes on the Refuge, Native American items of heritage they intend to steal in violation of the law.

It’s a much bigger picture, and it isn’t some phony John Wayne on the range movie, but the worst actions and actors from “The Godfather” and this gang is waging war on US, all of US. It is time to destroy them and their phony image in the public eye and mind.

P.S. don’t get me started on the 1872 Mining Act or the Railroad grant acts that have essentially stolen literally TRILLIONS of dollars from the taxpayers, in just the past decade, with Congressional blessing.

“Well regulated militia,” all gun sales from the National Guard after basic training course & registration for call-up in case of invasion or insurrection. There’s nothing in the constitution about hunting.

You should learn that ad hominem arguments don’t work on intelligent people.

By the way, BLM stands for Bureau of Land Management

They just arrested at least one of them for Grand Theft Auto because he drove into town to buy “Snacks” & Beer using a truck the BLM had reported Stolen when the “Takover” happened.

@Guy Fawkes… I trust that you know who the original Guy Fawkes was and the glorious career (?) he had and how it ended. In fact, King James of England was so impressed that the king, in January 1606, made sure that Guy Fawkes was made ‘famous’ and is remembered and celebrated (?) still today in England. King James arranged it such that Guy Fawkes would be seen all throughout England AT ONE TIME. (Rather hard to do before CNN and television). Guy Fawkes, a wonderful person to want to emulate.

Usually right-wingers say that they don’t like thieves. Apparently, they make an exception if the thieves have guns, or if they are stealing from the public, rather than from a white shopkeeper.

Hypocrisy. Who knew?
