People should be judged by their voting choices. When someone votes for a candidate whose actions lead to accelerated climate change, ecosystem destruction, corporatism and plutocratic economics, police state brutality, etc., they are culpable for that. And with the D/R duopoly, everyone is going to have their hands dirty to some degree, although IMO voting Republican leaves you far far “dirtier”.

One-on-one, they’re usually nice people, but when they keep making the same mistakes over and over, it starts to seem like they just want to be fooled.

Luckovich makes an excellent point here. We need to treat Republican voters with respect and listen to what they have to say. Listening doesn’t me we accept the insanity proposed by some Republican politicians — rather, that we’re willing to work together to sort things out and do what’s best for us and the world. Hate gets us nowhere (as the last few years has amply demonstrated. Yes, hate’s fun, juicy, and filled with cool drama for some folks. But it’s a much too expensive indulgence.

If we assume for a moment that all the GOP Presidential hopefuls are clowns, buffoons, trolls, wannabes, etc. (I know, a stretch), the question is where are the “good” Republicans who actually are stand-up candidates hiding? Candidates reflect the supporters’ leanings and aspirations; if admirable qualities are what the electorate is looking for, it’s what they will get. Instead, you have these knuckleheads.

Mebbe we would…if you’d stop with the whooping and cheering, every time one of them makes an outrageously stupid statement.

So tell me, young, growing family: What IS a Republican? For what principles do Republicans promote?

Former candidate Bobby Jindal is smart and sane, yet incompetent. The current crowded field is……a crowded field!

If they’re saying they’re REJECTING all those morons, okay. Rand Paul is by far the smartest, and even he’s loony toons on some subjects.

Being a Republican is not a congenital defect. You have to actually choose to vote for the party of stupidity and violence. That makes you either not peaceful, not smart, or more likely, NOT honest.

I’m surprised he’d use the word “smart.” Even “honest” and “peaceful” are questionable with the “tea party,” gun-loving weirdos that make up the core of their party.
