Love the drawing of the house in the second panel…For the record a house is haunted as soon as Danae walks in the door..

It’s not a good idea to mix wine and spirits.

The house I was raised in was built in 1740. My brother now owns it, and hasn’t reported any ghost lately.

My sisters have claimed our family home is haunted, despite the fact that the house is a suburban tract home built in the 1950’s that we’ve owned since the mid-60’s, and that no one passed away in it before my mother did, and that was after they claimed they saw a ghost.

We bought a newly built home in 1977….several years later our cabinet doors would sometimes be open when no one was there to open it. Or room doors would close on their own. We named it Jonesie and my youngest swears she saw him and when we moved 15 years later…Jonesie moved with us. He poked my youngest in the back to let her know he was there and cabinet and room doors began opening and closing on there own. Now the girls are grown and I am divorced with no sign of Jonesie…I guess he moved with my ex.

So now we are getting ‘spiritual’ or a reasonable facsimile. Shouldn’t Danae alert Dad?

Nice contrast with the variation to black/white or color absent. Good affect.

If shows like DEAD FILES are any indication, sometimes, the land is haunted before the house is built. Other times, ghosts come from elsewhere like bullies on a playground seeing new prey.

So far, the ghosts that hung around our ol’ farmhouse (built in 1832) treated me pretty well. I’d find out later while tracing it’s history, that 8 people had died in that house. My mother, being goosey about half those facts back then, had to lay awake at night, listening for every creak and groan from the walls and woodwork, just KNOWING that ‘there was a ghost in there, trying to scare her !’ Poor Ma.

I always felt that my grandparent’s house in NH was haunted. When my Grandmother passed, I guess the haunt left too as I never felt anything there again. The house was built in the 1700’s

    -the ground itself

There are a lot of abandoned graveyards that used to be attached to old churches here in Florida. Some of the graveyards became parts of developments, and others became part of road bases. It would be interesting to find out of any of the folks who moved into the new homes, or used the roads, ever felt like someone else was there with them…

    -Poltergeist

A major point in that film was the fact that the development was built over an old graveyard…

-The History Museum in the County where I live and work in Central Florida was once the ‘retirement home’ for indigent elderly folk here. There’s a Powerpoint presentation about all the different ghostly activities that have gone on in the old building. The volunteer board for the Museum once even brought ghost investigators in, who reported that they saw some of the elderly folks.

I have never been able to operate the Powerpoint presentation on my computers.

The most often reported ‘haunting’ is of a tiny rocking chair, built for children, and donated long ago to the museum after the children had all passed away at young ages (from diseases such as diphtheria and scarlet fever.)

The little red chair rocks wildly some nights, when no one is around to start it up.

Holiday repeat, but I hope this means we will see Lord Reggie more in the new year. He’s been absent for quite a while, and the kids need someone to talk to…

LayneggWe married while in college and soon picked up our own poltergeist. We had several moves to find better and/or cheaper housing and after a week or two of peace, doors would start moving with no effort or wind. After graduation, work-related moves were longer distances and a longer period of peace, but ultimately the call of “It has found us.” We have been free for about four decades now, other that what is obviously due to pier and beam foundation shifting. No, I don’t believe this, but it does make an interesting running gag through life.

Well, since Poltergeists are known to prefer Teenagers, maybe That’s who it followed..Or it left the house because the Family Next Door had “Better” Teenagers…

Interesting that Reginald is in Their house instead of the Victorian right down the street..Because Reginald is definitely a Victorian sort of Ghost with his Cummerbund & Tail coat.

A house we stayed in on PEI was haunted, and there was a mysterious wine stain on the wall above the stairs. I explained it was where the ghost had tried to pass through with a glass of absconded wine made by the owner.

There are too many stories about “ghosts” to dismiss them easily. I like your take on it (that " living things from adjacent dimensions that are solid enough here but are invisible to our sight and can change their density in ways we cannot". Perhaps they have something to do with departed people or there is some other explanation, but I believe they are real.
