In my city, people rake them to the curb and the city vacuums them up and mulches them. They are going to stop doing that. Then you cannot burn them, you cannot take them to the dump…so what do you do with them? If you have several trees, there are a lot of leaves. Do you just leaf (lol) them where they are and allow them to rot? What a mess.
Burning has been illegal in my town for many years. I did like the smell of those leaves burning, but with my allergies, it is just as well that burning of leaves no longer happens here.

Our ordinance prohibited burning refuse, but it allowed outdoor cooking fires. So a weenie on a stick cured everything.
