    Burl didn’t need a pencil for math, cos he never came up with an answer to write down.

    Just one more example of why these folks should never have been allowed to multiply.

    I still have a couple of my old slide rules. Got my first one in 1957, I loved those things when I first got them! It still makes my skin crawl when I think about some idiot using their rule for a drafting straightedge.

    Actually, they gave Burl two paint stir sticks from the hardware store held together by rubber bands and just told him it was a slide rule. To this day, he thinks the square root of TEL 4-5634 is MULIGANS HARDWARE.
