Hey, Frazz. Where, where? Those should actually be sugar plums, not wrapped gifts, dancing in their wee little heads!

So is this a hidden clue to why Frazz is a janitor poor English)? Or do comic strips not get proofread? Or am I missing a subtle joke?

Ddyment….only “poor English” if puns are poor English…. and if they are, Heaven help me!

Frazz has an amazingly good grasp of the language… he has a secret career as a songwriter of note (pun)

(and also cause for suspension of disbelief, in true comic strip fashion, about the maintenance of his janitorial job.)(another pun, BTW. No, I don’t usually label them…. it just seems appropriate)

Anyway…. when roll is called, students usually say “Present!”

I’m not exactly sure whether Mr. Burke is allowing the kids to call out their gift wishes, instead, or if it’s just a little joke in his mind, to picture Christmas gifts when they say “present”….

But Frazz is definitely making a pun… “Here! Here!” instead of “Hear! Hear!” because the students are present.

Kinder… that’s also why they’re gifts, not sugar plums.

When a teach calls roll students normally say “here” because of Christmas they answered with “present” instead.

What is wrong with being “one of the masses”?

I’m probably the massiest of those masses, so I really appreciate the education I get from commenters like SusanSunshine, etal. I can appreciate the comic more, too, if I GET it. :-D

These levels are even more preposterous than the ones Kramer was going to have in his apartment.

I wasn’t explaining because I thought anybody was “beneath” me in understanding..I merely threw in my take on it because somebody asked.
